Thanks for sharing. Thank goodness you don't have a crazy bad story! Today is 37 days for me. As of next month it'll be 5 years since opiates. There was one point in my life I was doing 10 bags of heroin a day.

Great story! My take-a-way is your moral compass of taking responsibility and being unselfish . What I found awesome is how you shared the slippery slope of daily drinking, but not necessarily having to hit a crushing rock bottom. More and more people are ‘sober curious’ and don’t need to destroy everything to qualify for no more drinking, so your story will resonate with many. Thanks for sharing this

Bravo to you. Keep it up and strong. Can relate. One day, I woke up and said enough. No rock bottom moment, but just knew it wasn't for me. Listened to the book Quit Alcohol the Easy way and that was it. Went cold turkey. Been almost 3yrs now. Doesn't come up much, but when it does someone might say why don't you drink. And I say... why should I drink?

I get the feeling most people who fall into this situation fall into it as you describe it. Me, it was the same...when I was in banking we'd get bombed every Friday night with the crew but didn't really drink during the week. Then after I bought and started running my business is when it started mostly due to stress...no real trigger as you mention as well other than that. I'm happy to say I haven't failed at anything I have every really wanted to realistically accomplish, this is no different. Cheers Nat and keep it up.

The more I "got" in life, the more I drank. I put too much focus on money and material things. My life was out of balance. Life is so much better now that I removed the alcohol and am working on myself.
