Wendy’s 2 co-title tracks, “Like Water” and “When this Rain Stops” was her message back to her fans. Her injury was quite intense , fracturing her hip, arm, facial injuries requiring her jaw to be wired shut.
Hard hitting? Try “Monster”, Irene and Seulgi submit….and more in their B-Sides where they really get to flex their vocals. Recent, “Bye Bye” “Zoom” “Good Bad Ugly”.
The reason why Red Velvet started off with only 4 members was because Yeri was still too young. They waited a year for her to join the group. Korean labor laws. Not like other agencies today that starts them very young.
"Feels like it shouldn't work, but it works so well" -actually true for any Red Velvet song from ICC onwards. You are going to have so much fun with their discography, if you ever decide to dive in.
Wendy's album is full of symbolism about her letters she wrote. Actually, the two title track of this album are about those letters. For that reason you saw her writting letters.

I just watched this. I was one of those few commenters saying "Why don't you like ballads?" and I really appreciate your point. Also if you didn't notice, at the end the title also says "Wendy's Rain Stops". Meaning, she already passed her tough times. Also the song's first part is about comforting us, and the second part is about comforting herself.
Something that I always love from RV is that They switch positions and roles on her songs very often, it's most common on her b sides songs but here with Wildside you can hear that every chorus it's different because each member sang different part in every chorus, not just the main and lead vocalist sang the chorus, and others songs you can hear when the vocalist line raped and the rap line sang... it's amazing the kind of talent they have.

They debuted in 2014, Irene was 22/23, Suelgi and Wendy were 19/20 and Joy was 17/18.
Yeri joined a year later, she was only 15/16

Be Natural showed the sub-unit potential of Irene and Seulgi, Monster and Naughty, Pt. 1 are 🔥🔥 Wildside came out about 2 weeks after the amazing Feel My Rhythm, no skip, album. Reveluvs were blown away!! New comeback on 11/13. Thanks for appreciating Red Velvet.
Ugh rv is my fav group their bsides imho are where they shine! Excited for their comeback and album. You like yeri in wildside btw :). Wendy's album is truly one of my favorite but I am a fan of ballad/rnb songs so it was right up my alley. It was basically a letter to fans after her accident which required her to take a year off from being an idol. She fell 10feet and fractured her pelvis, face, and arm. Lack of communication from SM had us wondering if she would be able to return to the stage. Idk if there are a lot of songs that go as hard as wildside since their bsides tend to be more rnb focused. There red album, birthday, and feel my rhythm eps might be a good start for songs that hit.

If I could only listen to one group for the rest of my life, it would be RV. Their discography is very diverse and their vocals just keep reaching new heights every year.

one thing notable about be natural is that its just a cover/rendition. It was originally s.e.s's song, and f(x) has their own version of this song as well so it was passed down through sm. its just so good that people think that its their song (rightfully so)
When they debuted, they had two sides, the Red Side, which was the more upbeat, poppy, energetic songs. Then there was the Velvet side, which heavily lean into R&B, and more chill. I've heard that they say they are more blending the two sides now in their songs, not having one type of song or the other. I prefer their Velvet side, they are R&B queens. In the Ice Cream cake era, Ice Cream cake was a Red song, and Automatic was a Velvet song, both on the same album. If you at all into R&B, you have to watch Automatic, that was the song that slapped me, and made me pay attention to them.

To bad Wildside was not a Korean release, it would have many more views. The meaning of the song is a coming-of-age song.

RV has quite diverse songs and not many as hard as Wildside but for me their b sides where their best music is.

The concept of Red Velvet is that they dont repeat themselves. They have all said that they are group who always wants to be different every time they release something. Like their name Red = bright fun pop upbeat and Velvet= serious sad jazzy melancholy. And woth they can separate both sides but also fuze them together like Wildside.
Also what sets them apart from all kpop groups is that they heavily layer vocals in their songs. They record all the background sounds and vocals. A song writer here on TH-cam showed the track she wrote for them and it had like 26 layers of just backing vocals.

Actually, S.E.S. is an amazing group. The vocals and the music are incredible.
In Be Natural, the youngest Joy was 18 while the oldest Irene was 23. Then, in 2015 Yeri joined the group

They don't repeat concept twice so to answer your question if they've done it before the answer is no. RedVelvet always showcase new sound and concept everytime they comeback.

Actually wildside is the only title track where they sang the chorus individually because usually they will sing the chorus altogether. This song is a good representative to show their vocals

Being this mad over a song that's not even theirs. It's a cover from SES and the rap is in the original song you're acting as if any of the red velvet girlies would've done a better job with the rap😭

It most likely sounded chewed up when SES did it and still did even years later.Taeyong isn’t the problem he just happens to be there but nct stans get so defensive when his delivery is only as good as the flow of the rap will allow which is zero
If you love wildside I'd recommend "feel my rhythm" and "zoom".
If only I can go back in time and listen wildside for the first time again 🧡
