There’s a lock feature on the control panel that freezes the panel when anything touches it you can unlock it when your done but wipe and clean before you unlock it
For the kitchen aid stove, you can lock the controls by holding the start button for 3 seconds. This helps to avoid the accidental touches problems while cleaning the stove.

I got same gas stove & having same issues with front left burner. Could it be a bad spark electrode? I clean cap & around spark igniter & no luck. It turns on using a lighter
