Great video Phil as always lots of interesting information, back in the day stokes opticians used to be a butchers and a few doors past there was a chip shop I forget the name but it had a big red led fish in the front window, where the ymca car park is used to be a building that had squash courts in there,a select few of us had our p.e lessons in there,I think it belonged to the ymca, keep up the good work
Hi Phil I would prefer the Christmas Tree in the centre by the clock I liked the picture of the Weslian church and I can see the Christmas tree lights down phoenix street look loverly all the best Paul
You have done it again Phil, all of the walk you did there is part of the route I do road walking one of my dogs to condition his paws and leg muscles ready for the biggest dog show in the world in March ! We walk from Greets Green Rd up to Bull St ,then all down the High St, then down Phoenix St and back up Greets Green Rd.
Some spectacular light displays there Phil. There's a high cost in money and risk in putting up these displays. I spent much of my working life up ladders and see guys every year looking shakily very uncomfortable balancing on top of ladders (probably for the first time) putting up their lights. There's usually a spectacular display on one of the houses on Walstead Rd West just past the walsall football ground. I've not seen it this year so far but they decorate front and back and take charity donations for a walk around. Now come on Phil, if there are any photos of that perm, we would love to see them ha ha.
Sadly the perm was not a success so no photos exist 😃 it also makes you wonder how some of these folks manage to pay the electricity bill to run those lights??
The boat place used to be just past George salters where that new house is,we could look down into the yard when we were walking round the side of the school,I think there was a shop on the front that sold gas and stuff
Hi Phil we have been watching your videos for the last couple of months, we find them interesting and at times amusing. We understand that Bilston open market is moving to allow for the current site to be renovated any chance you could visit the new site and show us neighbours in Birmingham where it is?😊
It's true that, I often wonder what the neighbours feel about an enormous light festival right next door. It may not be technically noisy but what about all this EMF frequency around? Thanks HF
