I love how everyone recognized how easy it would be for Matt to win in the beginning, then saw how close the queen was from winning, which enabled Matt to win
I love how Matt clearly noticed Micah had played onto his warrant but didn't say anything until it moved onto Becca's turn so they couldn't retcon it

Hades and Cruella De Vil would make good additional villains for this game. If it gets popular, an expansion to it will probably be made and I would elect these two to be added.

HLGamez I believe Ursula is already in the base game, but an expansion with more villains sounds inevitable if the game does well.
Adam Assink Adam Assink I looked it up and found out she is in fact in the game, I’d love to know what her objective is if anyone knows. The Evil Queen, Scar, Cruella De Vil, Hades and Lady Tremaine would all be iconic villains that’d be great to add though!
I wonder if we could possibly add someone like Clayton, or would his objective not be all that workable? or maybe Sher-khan (the tiger from jungle book)
HLGamez - Ursula needs to get King Triton's Crown and Trident to her Lair space and defeat Triton himself.
Warlock1080 - For Clayton, perhaps something along the lines of getting to the 'Ape Camp' (which would be a locked location) and defeating a certain number of apes.

Prince John seems like an bullet sponge that everyone goes after while another villain slowly takes over because no one realizes how powerful they've become.
Except while you are riddling John full of holes you don't realize you aren't really hurting him, just moving his power around. then he centralizes it all in a few turns and bam HE was the quiet villain no on realized was so powerful! muhahaha
As one who uses Prince John. He's good imo if u can set up defenses. If robin hood is the first fate before u get it set up. Yeah it's gonna be a rough go lol. They did him a huge favor by not playing robin hood lol. I mean they knew his objective was to gain power. Robinhood makes him earn 1 less any time he earns.

The fact that when Deception was played at 27:34, Mica immediately yelled “disgrace!” makes me happy that we have someone who knows their Disney, cause I immediately started singing the rest of the song

Oh GOD I love this. I love how into it they all are. The outfits are just a pure delight. I can just keep staring at all of them and enjoy all the details put into them. They all look greeeaat. Also once again immensely enjoy Matts whole acting, because he so effortlessly puts on a character and stays in character for so much if he wants to.
My favorite of the bunch has to be Maleficent, just character-wise.

Matt waiting exactly until the turn was over and then going 'oh, I gain 2 power because my warrant's there' was pretty amazing. He knew. He saw that. Can't tell me someone like Matt missed that as it happened. He just kept his straight face and curiously inspected his own cards until Micah was done with her turn, because he is done with that.
Great win from Matt there. Magnificently done!

It did mean he had to use a location that allowed him to move and vanquish rather than just vanquish though, not sure if that made a difference though

The historical Prince John is my 26th great-grandfather, and I’m playing Prince John in the play The Lion In Winter right now. So Disney’s Prince John holds a very special place in my heart. Getting to see Matthew Mercer play him? A DELIGHT. And 19:10-19:20 is a GIFT.

I know I'm late but I love and hate how they miss things. Like how Matt literally just won at 1:10:10 when she made the hero go to Nottingham giving him the warrant power.

The game looks rather fun and strategic.
However, Queen of Hearts (And the rest) missed that the King ally lowers the cost to *PLAY* a Card Guard by one. The White Rabbit increased the cost to *ACTIVATE* a Card Guard by one.
So, they do NOT cancel eachother out, as she posed.

Also around 25:36 they played the Abu card incorrectly. Abu is supposed to steal an item at his location; instead, they played him to one location, then had Abu steal the scimitar from a different location.

Five years later, I know, but just have to point out, when Maleficent moved to the spots she'd cursed previously, she should have discarded those curses, at least that's what the Curse cards themselves say
53:12 - Marisha (probably inadvertently) cheated here. She moved Male50Cent to Briar Rose's cottage, where the curse "green fire" was. This curse however has to be removed, if the villan moves there, which Marisha never did. But since nobody at the table caught it, this just falls under rule number one of all gaming: What's done is done.
I'd say she "made a mistake" or "played a card wrong" instead of "cheated".
Well, she gained an advantage by not playing by the rules...
I DID say it was probably inadvertently, because I don't believe Marisha to be a cheater at all...
But, you know, semantics...
That's the thing. Saying "cheated" is pretty loaded, and you don't even think she cheated. You think she made a mistake.
It's not a big deal, but words shape us. It's good to think about the ones we use.
Maybe it's a language barrier thing. English is not my native tongue. I intended to say that she gained an unfair advantage over the other players by not following the rules, while NOT implying it was done on purpose.
Evil Gameplay 101 if no one caught you cheating, you didn't.
This was a great group of players. Too often I am not excited to watch these games because the players do not excite me, but this was wonderful.
1) Slight Tactical Advice, when playing the Cheshire Cat, the Card Guard at its location should have been left in wicket mode. This forces the Red Queen to spend power to switch the card guard to combat mode to fight the Cheshire Cat, this means no matter what multiple turns had to be spent moving to activate the ability to switch stances, either to fight, or to avoid fighting.
2) Found it interesting the Prince John won BECAUSE King Richard showed up.
3) Should have disguised Lady Cluck, not Maid Marian
I really feel the queen was just making up her own power math, taking power on empty circles and spending less than the card says...

Maleficent also had a few slides too. One of her curse cards if she places her character on there gets discarded and she did it like 3 times but nobody paid attention 😂. I thought the person who was playing Jafar saw but nobody worried about it lol
I’m a pop in and say don’t be too hard on the players because there are a lot of rules to keep straight in this game

At 25:00 , the Abu card states that he grabs an Item from HIS location and not A location. So Abu would have to have been played to the same spot as Razoul. Outcome would probably have been the same but Razoul wouldn't have been moved.
Clicked on this solely for the incomparable B. Dave Walters. Was not disappointed because all the players were entertaining.
Prince John has some fascinating design. Having a hero in the jail gives no drawbacks, meaning John can use move effects to essentially ignore any heroes. His fate deck is built in such a way however, that this isn't always the best option. Cards that steal power incentivise defeating them properly.
I just recently bought and played this game tonight and it was confusing at first but seeing this video and the rules video have helped a lot on understanding the game.
I played with the Purple expansion first and I have to say, it took about 3 tries before I really understood the game well.

Expansion/Stand called "Wicked to the Core" is going to have Evil Queen (Snow White), Hades (Hercules), & Dr. Facilier (Princess and the Frog). Set to be release March 3rd .
Proof this show is much more fun when the guests enjoy themselves and are interested in playing a game, also when they show the whole game.

this is a great how to play. To the point, clear, and visually pleasing. Nice job.
I wish people could better present some of these tabletop games. Not a lot of people put effort into presenting games property, and such a shame when it's a popular game.

This game was actually so confusing at the beginning and the video they provided in the instructions wasn’t helpful at all, but after we started playing it and got into it, the game is actually really fun!! For those who might be having trouble understanding the game play or are discouraged, play the game, and make sure to read the instructions manual as you go to get a better understanding of what each item means. We found that playing and reading the manual if we got confused helped a lot and we ended up enjoying the game!

Great play! Maleficent didn't discard the fire curse after going there though, I caught that.
There were frankly a few mistakes and a lot of missed opportunities but it really isn't fair to armchair QB games like this.

Just rewatched this. The discard cards action can be used to discard multiple cards if wanted. This can help cycle through the deck to get the cards you need much faster.
I said to myself I was going to be a dick and not watch the full play through unless Little John was played. Then they threw in Mercer so I guess I need to stay.
Edit after watching: I was real sad for most of the game and then the end occurred and I was no longer sad.

A misprint on the board. It missed the 2 on gain power circle icon. The rule book shows 2 on that location

This is a great game but there is imo a ridiculously huge learning curve. After a few games I have some takeaways. 1. Play and go through as many cards as possible in order to reach the objective. 2. Play fate as often as possible to prevent players from winning.
Matt says toward the end of the video that it is very draw dependent. Again I think playing or discarding cards in order to get to the objective makes it possible. It’s a pain in the ass but I think it’ll make more sense with more games. Overall I think with more play throughs the smaller rules and play style of the game will make it more enjoyable. I know I repeated myself a lot but those were some major things that I found after feeling like an idiot my first few games. Thanks

To be fair it was their first time playing, it’s a pretty easy mistake to make. There’s a lot of rules to keep straight if someone isn’t constantly pointing out.

Insert Keyleth joke here. :P Marisha's quite good with rules once she knows them, but taking in rules text seems to be something that doesn't happen easily for her.
I was surprised when she played that curse on a location she was likely to want to go. And then it made sense when she went there without discarding it. Oh well, mistakes happen, and fortunately it didn't affect the game, not even drawing any further fates her way by having an extra curse out.
Interesting balance mechanic to have curses have restrictions on what you can do, but instead of making it impossible they just make it a tradeoff.

At 25:00 how does Abu steal the scimitar and subsequently run to Streets of Agrabah? The card states he steals an item at 'his location'....If so, he must stay at Oasis, becuase that is where the item is. He can't steal and then move upon deployment, or deploy at Streets and steal from an adjacent loctaion. What am I missing?

Matt explained where the Hamster Dance came from, and my poor brain is freaking out. I loved watching Robin Hood. And I liked that song when I was a little older. And I never made the connection until now.
I just played this a few days ago with some friends and had a blast. I was Prince John and besides getting Prince John and Little John mixed up he was a lot of fun to play. It's the most straight forward objective but it takes so long to gain 20 power because you're constantly paying power. His jail area is excellent because it doesn't have any symbols up top so you're never losing any abilities for having a hero there. plus you can move heroes to the jail. I'm not sure why Matt discarded so many condition cards because that's how you gain more power when it isn't even your turn. Super fun game highly recommend and fun to play an individual objective that's different to everyone else.
The condition you're referring to, Greed, has a requirement of 6 power, which is a lot for someone to have at once. However, Mica almost always had 6+ power so I agree
I thought that as per the wording on the objective that the only way for a curse to COUNT towards the objective if it was the first thing played during your turn, meaning you couldn't collect power or play a different action before the curse was played. If you did an action before the curse was played it was just a curse and doesn't count towards the objective.
That doesn't make much sense... The objective is to just have a total of 4 Curses (one per location) at the start of your turn. This means that if you have 4 Curses in your Realm when it is back to your turn again, you win. There's nothing in the rules that say you can only play Curses when you begin your turn, and that not playing a Curse first then doesn't count for the objective. You can play a Curse at any point during your turn so long as you have a Play a Card action on your location.
At one point she moved Maleficent to a location where the curse card says "If Maleficent moves to this location discard this curse" it bugs me that that didn't happen.
On that exact same turn she also moved an ally to a non-adjacent location. It’s hard to know all the rules and stopping the game to correct rules would ruin the vibe. Though I too wish there was some way to have rule people in an earpiece to let them know they have broken a rule
What got me was that Mica kept taunting Matt with all her power, then also kept playing cards but didn't 'spend' the power to play them. I can't have been the only one who saw that more than once.
She's just a cheater.
