sure there isn't much to do here, but I learned to love it here. you just have to love the out side, love art, and especially the food. Santa Feis the best.

I am from Brazil and spent the last summer in santa fe. it was the most incredible time of my life. I went to Folk Art festival, really awesome! I wiped when I watched this video.

490 over a weekend in Santa Fe is quite a lot, I will spend half of that even in LA.

Of all the places you could have had GOOD local food 'off the plaza' you settle for 'frito pie'???
Drive south on NM 14 about 30 minutes and you can have a blue corn/green chili chicken enchilada at the Mineshaft Tavern in Madrid AND done some great shopping.
The Santa Fe Brewing Company is great for live shows out on the patio too.

I've been to Santa Few several times, living in Denver it is my favorite place to visit in the fall. That said, this video is awful! You didn't capture real Santa Fe. You went like a naive traveler into the Five and Dime for junk food, visited a ski resort in summer, and missed ALL of the Santa Fe gems. lame.

My college friends and I are going to Santa Fe from Colorado in a few days, do you have any recommendations of what to do and where to go and not be a naive traveler. We want the real Santa Fe experience and since you have been there I thought you might have some suggestions!

I thought the same thing. I've visited Santa Fe several times, and he captured nothing of the feel and look and experience of the city. It's such a terrific place, and this doesn't do it justice at all.

He starts off with “Surviving the weekend on $500” and eating that crap. I’ve been there, eaten well and spent less. Pass on this after the first 45ish seconds.👎🏻

I always liked his videos, but I agree that something is not working here. The NYTIMES video for 36 hours in Santa Fe is much better. Frugal traveler is here at Santa Fe Opera with well-heeled baby boomers. That's Santa Fe in a nutshell. Rich retirees in too much chunky jewelry.

You didn't need to spend $493.30, I think you did that on purpose to make the trip seem dramatic.

Santa Fe is very expensive, trust me I live here. There is a lot of culture and many beautiful things, but it costs a lot especially if you're in downtown.

Funny. Not so hot choices of things to do in Santa Fe. Oh well, to each his&her own. For what was done and eaten, I guess most of the $500 was spent on the room? Oh no that was $182 for two nights. Hmmmmm, I smell a rat. I wonder if he had to turn in an expense report to the NY Times. My guess is -not-.

+Toadyhead you basically have to be an outdoors person to live in Santa Fe.

You go to Santa Fe and eat a Frito Pie, when there's so much much better things to eat. Also, Santa Fe was designed as a tourist trap back in the early 1900's, it's not real, it's totally fake. No history at all.

    • @mariahrivera336
      @mariahrivera336 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+1too3fore I lived here 19 years of my life, still living here. of course its real history smarts.

Just because they passed an ordinance mandating a certain building style doesn't mean the place has no history. It has plenty of history.

"quasi southwestern furniture" ?!?! This guy completely skipped over what the essence of Santa Fe and New Mexico is in search for cheap food a cheap thrills. This video speaks about Matt Gross and little about Santa Fe. Feel free to skip.
