The side effects after sonic prime:

Fun fact: the room that it takes place in is in Sonic Generations aka the first time modern Sonic meets classic Sonic which adds some evidence on why this is happening

So the story starts with real sonic chasing down dr. Eggman. Then sonic finds the mirrors while he was chasing down doctor eggman then sonic sees all the versions of him in the mirrors and all the sonics were trying to take down the real sonic making sonic weaker and can’t protect himself so when he sings all of the versions of sonic appears changing and changing which means they are taking down the real sonic. The part of the igloo we see all of the sonics which means when sonic was in the mirrors, all versions of sonic were watching him sing also in the end of the fnf song a sonic says “hey should should do this sometime again!” That means that they are going to hurt him even more to take him down.

Fanmade Story to how Sonic ended up in that position: Eggman was figuring out a plan to capture Sonic but then after some point he found out there's other dimensions. Then just his Sonic. He made a room that made every Sonic's like quotes or words they say a lot into Sonic's head. And everytime Sonic's head would change it'd be dark. But too fast and it'd start hurting his head. For example: When another Sonic said "Your Too Slow!" It was quick and for the Sonic dealing with this it was black and then not even that long later he was conscious again. Eggman doing this whole plan left Sonic in excruciating pain. Sonic ran off after to get some rest and not freak his friends out. Shadow and the other's had to deal with Eggman for a couple days before Sonic came back. That's it for my little story lol.
This room already exists in sonic canon, he already knows about other dimensions. Especially when he met classic, which the classic universe is a separate one from his.
