At the beginning of 2022 Motty Steinmetz released his second album "Atik Yomin - Magen Avot". On occasion of this release he was interviewed by several channels.
The "Atik Yomin" album consists of old Hasidic songs, with most of them Motty Steinmetz was familiar from his childhood years, they were sung in his family and had been passed from generation to generation. To the majority of non-Hasidic public, those are new, never heard before songs.
According to many, this album is a work of art.

By the way, I have a question to you, dear Moonlight Watcher, I wanted to ask long time ago. Could you please explain, this album name - Atik Yomin, I saw some translating it as Good Old Days, but as far as I know, actually it is translated as The Ancient of Days, which means LORD. What is the correct translation of the album name?
"Old days" or "Ancient days", but in a form of adjective. "Ancient of days", "Стародневный". "Atik Yomin" was also mentioned as a name of G-d (there are lots of names) in the Book of Daniel. It's allowed to mention this name in occasional conversations.
By the way, the word "Antique" comes from a Hebrew word "Atik".
According to the album's booklet (written by Motty himself, as we remember), the name "Atik Yomin" was offered to Motty by rav Shlomo Hertzel, Motty's chavruta (study partner - the one with whom Motty studies Torah and Talmud).
Terrific interview!! I forgot to switch on the subtitles and started to listen the Ivrit just as before, we, non-Hebrew fans, are so used to it, just sit and listen without understanding and just enjoying the unusual, gorgeous speaking voice of Motty 😄but 20 secs later I said to myself - hey, what about the translation! 😅 It's priceless to learn the details of working on the album and in general on music, how Motty chooses the songs, what he thinks of them, his musical principles that are closely connected with religious principles. Motty has a holy mission to bring ppl to HaShem, to life, to the sacred light of Torah Hakdosha - this is the MOST precious thing in the whole wide world! The moment I saw his gorgeous face, gentle smile and heard his unique voice... I could compare it to heavenly fragrance for life. I immediately started feeling revived, refreshed and elevated.
