    Hi, great double video on gas. I always struggle to keep the nose weight of our caravan below the limit. The gaslight bottle will save valuable kg. Ive looked at safefill which has an up front layout of approx. £180 so the gas light is the one for me.
    Thanks for the info, very informative.

      It's tricky isn't it? I knew I didn't really want Calor, I find them a bit cumbersome and heavy. I've put a bit more info here www.caravanvlogger.co.uk/caravan-and-motorhome-gas/ Graham

    Hi Graham. I know this is an old video so you may have already have done what I have done. I swapped my Calor Lite bottles for two user refillable "SafeFill" bottles, a 7.5kg and 10kg which I use in my caravan. They look very similar to the Gaslight ones you have so they probably come from the same factory. The SafeFill bottle is much more expensive to buy initially but even the 10kg version only costs around £10-£14 to refill. YWhen you made this video you had already spent as much to exchange your Gas Light bottles as it would have cost you to buy a 10kg SafeFill bottle albeit an empty one.

    Hi Graham, really useful video, thanks. Did you have to remove the retaining things for the calor bottles on the floor or does the flogas bottle fit over them?

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching. I didn’t remove anything. It’s a bit of a struggle to get 10kg bottle in, but they do fit over the plastic supports in the floor. Then tighten the strap and that’s it. Oh and you need the 27mm adapter as the calor one won’t fit

    Thanks for the easy to follow demonstration Graham, appreciated!
    So, forgive my ignorance, but aside from the connection thingy, I’m guessing the only other difference (apart from them being Green!) is going to be weight? How much lighter is a full 10kg Green bottle than a 10kg equivalent orange bottle?... 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️😎

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Calor (orange / red) don't do a 10kg bottle. But the 10kg green (gaslight) full weighs 15.4kg, the 5kg equivalent weighs 8.7kg. Calor's 6kg weighs 14.3kg. So, 5kg green is 8.7kg whereas the 6kg red (Calor) is 14.3kg. More info here www.caravanvlogger.co.uk/caravan-and-motorhome-gas/ Hope that helps? Graham

    Didn't know Homebase do gas Graham. Is the gas butane and how much does a full 10kg bottle weigh? I use 6kg CalorLite. When full it is 10kg. I exchanged a CalorLite a couple of weeks ago and cost was £27.80. Thanks for the informative video. Rob

      You're right Graham, CalorLite has been discontinued. They're not mentioned on Calor main web pages but if you type CalorLite in the search box at top of Calor screen. Info pops up saying there is limited refill stock available through retailers. Regards Rob

    Excellent, well explained video Graham. Due to the difficulty getting the 6Kg Calorlite cylinders, as Calor are phasing them out, I was thinking of changing to your system but using two of the 5Kg Gaslight cylinders as I want to keep my nose weight down in my small Lunar Lexon (2 x 10Kg would be too heavy for us) My question is where did you get that nice looking hose with the 27mm adaptor already fitted, and is it safe for me to unscrew my current Calor screw fit hose and simply replace it with one like yours? If you have a web link for the hose, that would be great as I can't really find one like that? Thanks again.

      Hi! I'm going to be buying and using propane case for the first time!! May I ask if the Flogas 11kg Propane cylinder and the Gaslight 10kg cylinder uses the same connections/valves? Thinking do they use the same regulators and hoses? Many thanks!

  • @garywaite6963
    @garywaite6963 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use these bottles but refill myself from a 47kg gas bottle using a pol to pol high pressure hose, a pol to 21.8mm LH adaptor and the very same 27mm clip on connector shown in this video with the one way valve removed which is just a small rubber disk. Better than wasting money on safefill bottles as you can see the level in these and as long as you don't go over 15kg total you're well within safe limits + you can visibly see the gas filling. LPG Autogas is slowly becoming less available in the UK.

      Hi, not sen the 11kg bottle before. Looked on their website and as long as it’s the 27mm clip on regulator then it will use the same as the bp gas light (flogas gaslight) bottles. Hope that helps? Graham

    • @mkleng

      @@CaravanVlogger Thanks, Graham. Sorry I meant the 11kg standard STEEL CYLINDER vs the 10kg Gaslight cylinder. My bad - I'm new to all this. I was told by a retailer that the Gaslight wouldn't work cuz for my purposes (100,000 BTUs), I will need a high pressure regulator (not sure what it really means, something like 4kg/hr or 8kg/hr instead of the standard 1.5kg/hr) so the Gaslight cylinder would not accommodate this? I'm not sure......

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I’d go with what the stockist said. On flogas website I see the 11kg Leisure Gas cylinder but that’s 50,000 BTU/hr so sounds like you might need higher pressure 🤷‍♂️Graham

    Hello Graham, just bought two 5kg footage (gaslight) bottles but can't find the connector and attachment. Where did you purchase your connector from Graham and is it a certain brand name we have to purchase? Also where did you purchase the European gas connectors for these bottles? If the bottle is empty it costs about £8.00 to fill it.
