    The comment about having a wider opening, so it is easier to get the tea leafs in, really made me think in new ways about what i would want in an teapot. It is small remarks like that which makes listening to somebody else's experience so interesting.

      It would be easier for him if he was using the narrow end of the presentation dish to pour his leaves into the pot from. It's a bit of a funnel, and was basically designed with this in mind.

    • @kattkatt744
      @kattkatt744 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@en0n126 Well, that is a preference thing again, do you want your leaves to slip faster into the pot or would you prefere to have to use a stick to tease the leaves through the narrower funnel. A lot of tea with not so tightly rolled leaves seems to get stuck in themselves, like stickes getting caught at a narrowing of a stream, in the narrow end of the presentation dish. It is interesting to hear how people do stuff and what their reasoning for it are because it can make you a more conscious about your own preferences and why you have them even if they are the opposite of what that other person prefere.

    Gorgeous! Wow, seriously, I want one. A lot of things to love about this pot's design, but I think my favorite part is how the lid knob subtly mirrors the unique design of the body. Really good work here on the design and execution!

    I love all of the shapes, but the one you revealed really grew on me the most! Its small, but not too small, and its roundish yet sharp at the same time. The flatter top with the wide opening is a really great design and must make cleaning the tea pot MUCH easier. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    I love this artists tea pots! But they're very expensive!
    I was being snoopy & I found an artist in China. Ill need to check my messages to find the exact place, I'll possibly edit this comment! Anyways, He makes some awesome teapots! He is making me a unique yet traditional pot, handmade from the artist just makes them feel cooler, gives the pot a soul, more character!
    I sadly being a Floridian can only bring myself to drink tea in the wintertime! Its just too hot in the summertime. I am a Chef & gong fu whilst I work. Always have hot hot water & I use my first gaiwan of which I've broken the lid, sadly...
    I walked out on the balcony of my condo today & its drizzling rain, the air has a bit of a chill (for me) its 75°F Perfect day to have tea... Thanks Don. I have loads of your tea ready for the steeping today!

    The nafu was my favorite of the previous ones, and since I don't drink that kind of tea much I have held off on them. I have your jianshui, kyusu, and the recent one you got in for black tea (it's stored up til my birthday). I quite like this one. I think I would get a real yixing first over chaozhou for me because I drink sheng pu'er , I feel like dancong is the last frontier for me on tea types. I just learned in the 4th edition of eighty degrees that dancong actually just meant single bush back in the day

    • @kongengorm3360
      @kongengorm3360 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's actually contested whether dancong actually means single bush. It could easily also mean a few bushes growing together in one spot. The whole one tree thing is more of a myth as far as i know.

    • @rec11fdc
      @rec11fdc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I believe those drips come from water adhering to the part between the knob of the lid and the actual lid because of surface tension. I thought the pouring of the pot was perfect :)

      … The drip performance of any vessel… Any pouring vessel should be performed with liquid poured very slowly to judge whether the first pour is in a stream or dripping down the side Of the vessel ...
      It’s the first few drops that matter...
      Very hard to build a vessel that pours perfectly with the first few drops and stream ... God is good😎

    • @reubenk1615
      @reubenk1615 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Notice that the first drops are from the bottom of the teapot where it was in contact with the tray.
      Gong fu has water everywhere, hence the tray.
      No wonder westerners see these pots as too small and too impractical for brewing.
      Without the tray on a barren table water will get everywhere

    • @rec11fdc
      @rec11fdc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@6122ula I don't know mate, to me it looked like the flow coming out of that pot was pretty much laminar. I don't think it gets much better than that. Still, not what I first look for in a pot as I don't mind water dripping.

    Side note: Any tips on how to pour the Fukamushi Saeakari green tea? Keeps clogging up my sieve 🍵

    • @horrudu4081
      @horrudu4081 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally a kyusu with a bigger, finer filter like a fine mesh metal filter is recommended for fukamushi (since the long steaming brakes up the leaves causing the problems you describe).
      For me, I also think that most japanese teas benifit from carefully filling the kyusu/hohin/shiboridashi with the water around the leaves. Trying to desturbe the leaves as little as possible. The same goes when pouring the tea into the cups. Pour as slow and gentle as you can (and consider the pouring time into the brewing time).
      This way the tea leaves align in a way that the bigger ones help to filter out the dust.
      Maybe try it and tell us what you think?
      (Also, the flavour improves in my opinion)

    • @alexair1737

      No this CLAY is the best for Dan Cong Oolongs.
      Grab the Zhang Pot from Mei Leaf instead. Much more affordable and the shape is also good. The price difference is just because of the name "Master Wu", and not because of the 4-times better brewing experience.

    Here we go again...
    You really should give your dedicated longtime customers a major heads up with these goodies...
    2020... not a good year.
    Not a good year at all...
    Beautiful design, very sleek.
    Much sleeker than the Junde Yixing.
    Next thing you know we get a new exclusive design to the Junde Yixing.
    Must be careful with that spout though, too small will have too slow a pour, too large and the esthetic is off point.

    • @voidremoved
      @voidremoved 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price goes up because he is the middle man in the transaction, they want it to be a name brand too, Master Wu studio. So think about it. 100 mil is a good size yes for 1 or 2 ppl, just like he said. But yes it is just a bit of mud, so why not make your own very cheap. Actually the price is not that much I thought he would charge even more. Still, I can't afford it.
      If YOU made a teapot like these, you would gladly harvest the ore, prepare it, work the clay in to a shape, fire it, pack it up and ship it to me and I will give you what 20 pounds? Good? feed your family? pay for your raw materials, labor, expenses and make you money pay the bills, get you bread on the table? Maybe I can steal it, can fit in my pocket? Shwoop
