I totally agree!!! I not only am so inspired by their incredible voices but I Love how Mat And Savanna look at each other, it reminds me so much of my Dad and I, he is now with God in Heaven!!
I am a 68, going to be 69 on July 27th, heroin drug addict. Ever since I found the Shaw’s singing The Prayer, I play it every day for strength. I posted at the beginning how much they are helping me and more people than I ever imagined, are praying for me and giving me hope and strength. I thank you Mat and Savannah for the huge change you have made in my life. Everyday when I open up my iPad there are people with wonderful, helpful words for me. Without your singing and you as my platform, I would not have so many people praying for me. There are a few negative responses but 99% are good kind people, wishing me the best, all because I listen to the Prayer and now follow everything you record. Congratulations on your worldly success I wish you well with all your dreams and pray you never get caught up in the negativity of the formal music business. It can make your life wonderful or hell. From the looks of your whole family, you already have wonderful. If that can be enhanced upon, I’m sure it will you are both soooo talented. Thank you for your inspiration. You can now say you have contributed to a heroin addict getting clean along with all the other people who you have inspired.

Oh, Mat! Your voice is stunning here. This is so beautiful, I have been listening to this every night before I go to sleep. My spouse and I live in Houston, TX, and we have spent months now working with COVID patients - we are so stressed out, and even though we are exhausted, have trouble sleeping. It has helped us by listening to your beautiful duets as we try to rest at night. Thank you for giving us this to add to our collection. You just made a 51 year-old 6'4" guy cry. :) I had not heard this song before, and I was taken aback by the beautiful melody and lyrics but mostly by the fact that you shifted its original intent (I'm guessing) to the love between a father and his daughter. You could not have chosen a more perfect song! I'm so grateful for your beautiful gifts but also the reminder that love lasts beyond our dying days all the way to time and all eternity. :)

@@bradk7310 I'm so glad that she's been very careful with her voice. I can remember my voice teacher mentioning the potential pitfalls of having someone sing as Ms. Evancho did at a very young age.
@@iamweaver2 It isn't really singing at a young age that can be harmful but what you sing and how you do it. Jackie 's parents were very careful on what she sang even to the point of singing songs in a lower key so as not to put strain on her voice. Jackie had voice lessons early on and than again after she appeared on AGT at ten years old. She started to see a voice coach again in 2019 to help her get ready for her appearance on The Masked Singer this past winter and spring where she mainly sang pop songs. Contrary to early assessments by "voice experts" that she would ruin her voice by the time she became a teenager, were so wrong. She is now 20 years old and her voice is pristine and pure as ever.

@@jeffyen Yes, I agree w/you. I'm no music critic, but I know what I like & what speaks to my heart. Maybe they don't have pure "Broadway" level talent, but they both have such sweet singing voices that paired well together. Theatrically, Ewan & Nicole beautifully brought such incredible romantic longing & pathos to life in the film as well as in this song. Major bummer the Academy disqualified it for the Original Song category bcos it was written for another film. Since it had never been used before, it feels like the song writers got robbed.😭 Both (the single & movie) versions were amazing.💐

This one brought tears - today would have been my 40th anniversary. My husband passed away unexpectedly 4 years ago at the age of 59, and I can't imagine myself with anyone but him. He was the greatest husband, father, and pap to one granddaughter at the time. (I now have 2 more grand babies, and another one on the way, and I'm sad that he didn't get to meet them. But like my daughter-in-law always says, he has the best seat in the house to watch them all grown and learn.) Thanks for this beautiful song today.

When this movie came out in 2001 I remembered I watched about 10-15 times, loving all of the many songs that I recognized throughout. I was serving in Germany, and my wife and I would sit on our couch in our tiny two bedroom apartment and watch this on DVD...new for the times, I know. Listening to your voices brought me back there, to a more “Innocent” times of our life together...before our children. This made me appreciate my wife even more than I already do... Sticking beside me through 3 deployments and 3 children. 20 years later...she has remained my rock and my salvation... “Come what May...”. Thank you so much for this... Nicole and Ewen would be very proud...

Lost my dad just over a year ago, 2 days before I delivered my twins. Lost my mom when I was 4 years old. This song has always been so beautiful, but it holds such a different meaning to me now.
