smooth sailing so .. between different themes , how cool in execution Bonus was a taste of Pop , palatable to the less politically inclined. Hip hop is about social bubbling ; it grieves against discrimination. My name is Ari ! I am your fan
All of it was awesome, but if I had to choose, my first favorite was One More Chance. I love that song, and the second was the Twista to Nina Sky Michael Jackson remix. Your skills are exceptional!
Legend! The crowd was wack though, they didn't appreciate your performance how you sit down when BIggie comes on!!! However, heads like me from this era know you're an exceptional talent!
I think the crowd is just a reflection of their own personality and culture. They just don't quite reverberate on the frequency of African American/Hip-Hop culture. .. But I guess most appreciated it in their own reserved way!
absolutely killed this. My favorite part is you staying committed to your craft with a crowd that was so stiff. You hit them with your amazing skills. Love the vibes!!!
Miri was the first violinist I heard setting it on fire🔥 in a hip hop song. It was either a Kayne or Twista video but she ate NO crumbs!! I thought Shelia E. but on a violin!! LUV to see sistahs of color breaking the box💖
They had no idea what they were listening to. I was stunned the first time I heard her play. She created a new genre in a moment on the Apollo stage that night. I’m pretty quite a few arenas in the audience that night signed there children up for violin lessons after that.
Still my number one inspiration! I dont the crowd knew how amazing this is . Lol I definitely would’ve played them some Queen , journey , lmao one thing I’m gonna do is read the crowd and play songs according to the demographic 😂 but amazing as always miri❤️
Wow! What an awesome performance! I am a hip hop guy since the 80s so this was amazing to combine it with hip hop. I think that the crowd was lackluster although some appreciated it because they recognized the hip hop songs so they knew how you were rocking with it; the only thing that may have prevented more participation was some of the songs that some recognized and began to stand up and jam to were too short and the crowd probably felt that it wasn't worth standing and dancing to because of the fast transitions. But.....personally, I loved it! Great job!
Omg!! I love you so much I remember seeing you on Apollo when you killed it ever since then I love watching your performances so glad I found your channel… also I’m a new subscriber
Wow, I would’ve been up during your whole performance! My favorite part!? The whole thing lol I didn’t know you were the violinist to twisters song! Love the work you do @MiriBenAri!
They didn't know the music it's not there fault if she did all Mozart tunes in the tunnel everyone wud wonder what da heck.... But we can't educate people playing it safe. You did Ur thing thing
This crowd man.....Maybe you should've played some Titanic or cotton eyed Joe for them to move to....they did not deserve to hear what you performed. Amazing violinist, horrible crowd. They are not worthy 😢
Regarding: Most of the sentaments here abt the "cold" audience response, it's simple, yet, too often overlooked! Wrong genre. Wrong crowd!!! The two don't mix. The two don't relate. The two have very little in common. Like the one commenter said, who can sit down on Biggie?!!!! Oil and water? They don't mix. No matter how hard you shake it. Completely remove her from this scenario, can you "REALLY" see "ANY" of these artists invited to perform for that VERY SAME audience? Of course not! MJ and Alicia would even be iffy! As an AA from the same generation as these very founders of hip-hop AND rap, these songs were born out of our pains and struggles of my people ESPECIALLY during that time. Audience didn't respond bc they can't, and probably never have had to, understand or have been exposed to the struggle, spirit, words, beats, and messages behind every single word! Let's not forget her (what I hope was) "unintentional" snub of the genre's founders by not crediting and/or thanking them before announcing "HER" Grammy win, when most, if not all, of them have never even been nominated for one, let alone win! Thus, the birth of Black awards such as NAACP, Soul Train, etc. in order for "US" to be recognized for our "MANY" artistic contributions to the WORLD! In fact, in those days they didn't even have a rap or hip-hop category! So, madam Violinist, please ALWAYS credit and thank those founders! Not only do they appreciate it, but the entire AA community will as well. :) ❤️ Congrats on your win!
I love hip-hop violins. And while she plays good, this just didn't do it for me. It felt more like something she was trying to do than who she really is. Major difference between her and Black Violin or Damien Escobar. Hip-hop is really in them. Its a part of who they are and if you're familiar with it, you can feel the difference. If not, you'll think this is fire.
Thank you guys! What was your favorite part of my performance??
When you play One More Chance that's always been one of my faves! Everything was dope though!
smooth sailing so .. between different themes , how cool in execution

All of it was awesome, but if I had to choose, my first favorite was One More Chance. I love that song, and the second was the Twista to Nina Sky Michael Jackson remix. Your skills are exceptional!
That crowd did not deserve that performance! Still amazing!
Legend! The crowd was wack though, they didn't appreciate your performance how you sit down when BIggie comes on!!! However, heads like me from this era know you're an exceptional talent!

The Crowd was terrible
Yeah that was lame and Empire State of mind is whack. It’s like a menopause anthem
They don’t know WHO they’re actually watching and the skills you have, I love that I grew up to all the music you did.
Hurts to see that the crowd don’t appreciate how incredible this performance was 😢
Come on, did you really think they would?
I think the crowd is just a reflection of their own personality and culture. They just don't quite reverberate on the frequency of African American/Hip-Hop culture. .. But I guess most appreciated it in their own reserved way!
She killed it. The crowd is killing my vibe she’s on fire
absolutely killed this. My favorite part is you staying committed to your craft with a crowd that was so stiff. You hit them with your amazing skills. Love the vibes!!!

They had no idea what they were listening to. I was stunned the first time I heard her play. She created a new genre in a moment on the Apollo stage that night. I’m pretty quite a few arenas in the audience that night signed there children up for violin lessons after that.

Wow I nvr knew sum1 actually played the instrument bc rappers sample so much. That's pure talent right there.
Look up some string quartet tribute covers. Some of them sound identical to their inspiration, especially dr dre.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
absolutely amazing, but i could help myself when the ""impeach the president" drum break started playing 😭
😤🔥🔥
The crowd was WHACK!!!! But you did amazing Miri!!
The crowd ..
She should have performed for a black audience ❤

My ALL TIME FAVOURITE featured jam of yours was FLY AWAY with Kanye West,Fabolous+Musiq Soulchild
It's the Chicago in me I cried on the Twista part
Nah this is kind of masterful!
That was the longest 5 mins of their life 🤣
Hi. Do u perform at xmas parties?
Daniel Vargas 🎻
Guess i would be the only white dude dancing and losing my mind. I love her work.
Wicked
Toughest crowd! 2 minutes and 45 seconds to actually let themselves be haha
I hate this crowd!! She is amazing. My black azz would of been dancing on top of the chair lol
They didn't know the music it's not there fault if she did all Mozart tunes in the tunnel everyone wud wonder what da heck.... But we can't educate people playing it safe. You did Ur thing thing
Where have you been? I can be classy and hip-hop at the same time and I would have.
Like two ppl dancing
Bet you 100000$ woulda been lit if the crowd was black
I love you sooooooooooo much. Could we meet for a tea or something?
Wow dude 😂bad move 👎🏾
This crowd man.....Maybe you should've played some Titanic or cotton eyed Joe for them to move to....they did not deserve to hear what you performed. Amazing violinist, horrible crowd. They are not worthy 😢

Just the wrong crowd on the wrong day unfortunate 🤦🏿 you did good

Entire crowd is white and all of em said “Debbie, I think I like hip hop”
What’s colour got to do with it bro?
thats what happens when a crowd has no seasoning
The crowd isn’t hip hop like the Apollo crowd. They not familiar with them hits.
Wrong Crowd!
This crowd disgusts me.
Crowd was 👎
