  • Thursday morning dawned with a solid overcast at 38 degrees, and brought with it the delivery of a "sheep's foot," or soil compactor, which we see being unloaded. Next is Chris starting the backfill process, followed by Blake operating the compactor, and José adding water. (An interesting segmentation of the stream is visible, apparently caused by the digital camcorder.) The last few seconds are displayed at four times normal speed. Listen closely during this segment and you can hear a buzzing sound similar to that of a hummingbird. This is caused by the compactor's vibrating action, which can be felt through the Earth by those of us standing nearby.
