I had this net. They sent me 5 new nets within 6 months and eventually I bought a better net. Its great for hitting into occasionally but if you're doing a lot of practicing especially wedges you'll wear a hole quickly in it. Just FYI love the setup! Get yourself a GCQuad and I'll come get a lesson!
I'm late to the party but your channel editing is great, the content is great and the talent is fantastic. Really enjoyed the (probably newer) short game practice competition video. Anything that helps the club-level golfer learn about tournament prep and general ways to straight up improve, is much appreciated. All the best, cheers.

Pretty much have had the same setup in my back yard but built a platform for the hitting matt to be on and glued it down so it wouldn’t move under my feet. And then I have a flight scope.

I can't believe you can hit drivers into that without having a secondary net. I have the same net, and I put a hole in it within a week using nothing more than a 6 iron. To their credit, Rukket sent me a replacement fairly quickly. Instead of worrying about putting a hole in the new one, I bought a 4'x8' heavy duty impact net somewhere else online, cut it in half, and attached it to the impact area with zip ties in the corners. Thankfully haven't had any problems thus far.
I had the opportunity to buy a used Rapsodo R-2 launch monitor which is pretty basic, but fun. I emailed Rapsodo twice asking about getting the software. I got no reply at all. Even a reply saying it was no longer available would have been better than nothing. I will never buy Rapsodo. I still don't have a launch monitor so I concentrate on good contact and alignment.
My Golf Spy just released their driver stats for this years drivers..... not gonna give it away but I think you got a pretty good driver in your hands right there
What kind of mat is that? It looks thick enough to "take a divot" without feeling like you are hitting hard ground. In other words it looks like it is realistic.
Have often noticed how your downward swing path flattens out slightly compared to your backswing. No over the top in your swing which is what I always struggled with (I’m jealous). As upright as your backswing is, you probably need to do this in order to shallow out the path right?

Have this set up in basement. However don't have any measuring device. I'm thinking the PGMR or maybe the speed laser. I don't want to spend much. I'm just concerned that basement lighting and also I don't have much space between mat and net.
how tall is your basement and how tall are you? looking at buying a house when the rates come down but want to put a golf sim in the basement. worried about height.. I am 6' 2".
Holy cow at that hitting mat, how thick is that and where did you get it? I use a Real Feel 3' X 5" that's only about 2" thick but lets me hit all my clubs including driver.
As an average Joe, does a net benefit someone like me? I feel like I would just end up practicing a worse slice, thinking that I'm getting better. I guess it's different with a launch monitor.
Do you take lessons ... if not why not ... get your foundations locked in with a pro and then work on incremental improvements! People waste a lot of money on gadgets and just keep practicing their bad swing hoping that somehow they will morph into something better ... it’s like going to the gym not lifting weights and then wondering why your biceps are still small 😂
@@andrewshimmingolfandkungfu319 I do take lessons. I'm saying without seeing the shot, how will i even know if anything other than impact is good. You can hit dead center of the club and still leave it open though, or closed.

Personally I would use it to train the move and not get fixated too much on ball flight... cause and effect ... the move once down pat will result in the correct ball path ... so you could use net to work in move then hit range every now and then to see how you are getting on. Hope that helps!
