- We have been debating on the best way to make the most of our bedroom wall to maximize storage space. Shon could build a custom closet but that would require a lot of sanding and painting. The IKEA PAX Wardrobe was an ideal solution to customize the space with readily available products. We watched a few videos to help get tips and tricks to assure easy assembly but…. SURPRISE! We got the NEW PAX Wardrobe with no videos to view for a reference. So we hope this video helps you with your assembly and makes your life just a little bit easier!

This is a HUGE HELP! Question though. Where did you get the scrap piece of the right size to measure the thickness when mounting the rail? You used it to offset the rail to mark it to account for the cabinet wall thickness. It appears to be a white piece of scrap. I think the time stamp is 5:00 minutes.
Glad to hear the video helped. The piece I used to measure the thickness was actually the front bottom piece to the wardrobe.
Thanks for the tip about that bottom trim piece getting caught and using the crow bar. We were stuck there!!

Thank you for doing this. Great job! I didn’t even look at the directions once. The only issue is that one of my doors is crooked. It hangs down lower than the other one. I tried to adjust the bolts in the brackets, but that didn’t help. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your kind words. I don’t know why one of your doors may be crooked. I was able to adjust my doors with the screw adjustments on the hinges. Please let us know what the outcome is.

I would say the most important parts are were the holes line up at the top. Video is very helpful - if you can add is standalone picture of alignment that would be fantastic

@@sdophoto1405 the rail goes from side to side with a gap on each end the thickness of the side walls. The measurement from the floor is 91 7/16”. Hope that helps😊
I can't believe you just posted this yesterday!!! I just bought a PAX last night and went to assemble it today. I was expecting the old style of assembly and was shocked when I saw the one piece construction with the 3 walls already together. You could not be more correct when you say the instructions are useless!!! I spread out all the parts and tried following the instructions without success. Horrible instructions! It seems like this is a new type of assembly because I could only find your video that shows the new PAX assembly. THANK YOU!!!!

@@r-ranchadventures FYI...the whole video saved my life but I have to tell you, your tip at 10:40 about using the crow bar to gently pull on the doohicky so the front piece will fit was possibly the greatest tip of all time. I hope everyone putting together Pax 2.0 find yours video! Thanks again.

Thank you, I was lost without this video. My back and side pieces came separate which seems odd .. One piece was the 2 back flaps connected to the right side, and the left side was packaged separately. This caused a slight gap in the left side corner. While it shouldn't be noticeable since I'm installing shelves, but if you have any tips for connecting I'm all ears.
Sounds like you have the previous generation, the one we thought we were getting. Unfortunately we can’t give any insight as we have not worked with the previous model.
Curious we installed the rail after the fact following a different video. Not convinced that is the easiest. How many inches or cm do you leave to the start of the rail?

According to their website, The IKEA PAX Wardrobe (49”) has an overall width of 49.25” (125.1 cm), depth of 22.875” (58.1 cm), and comes in two heights of 79.25”-93.125” (201.3-236.5 cm). Hope that helps! Thanks for watching
I need to cut about 6 inches off the bottom of the back panel. Is that possible without comproming stability?
Are you cutting it from the top, the bottom, middle? All the way from edge to edge?
@@r-ranchadventures want to make a cutout for my hot water baseboard heater. I saw that there are circular holes in the back panel. I guess I would cutout above them somehow. Definitely don't need to go to edges of side panels. I may not have to cutout 8 inches maybe just 4 for the grill or I'm thinking of drilling holes possibly.
Would these have to be disassembled if you ever wanted to move them?
Unfortunately, yes. They are secured into the wall so at a minimum, you would need to disassemble the top
I have love and hate relationship with this new model. Yes it is quicker but gosh it is wonky and wobbly nothing is flush or holding it square. I've installed over 100 of them already and quality wise I think it is a downgrade.
Thanks for you comments, since we have only installed the new PAX we don’t have anything to compare it to. I will say once the wardrobes were secured to the wall, and all the shelving and drawers were installed they are pretty stable.

Just built two Pax wardrobes last week in the UK and still the old style.

We have this new style but I didn’t get the metal wall bracket in my package…unless I threw it out by accident 😮
@@movealgarve it is just a thin bracket so I can see how you may have accidentally thrown it out… but it is always a real possibility that it may have been left out of the box. But I would definitely get a replacement before the install.
