Even McCaw and Wepu were having trouble with their leg before the finals and McCaw was very close to not even playing in the world cup final.

Even the most partisan NZer must raise that this was one of the dodgiest matches in world cup history. It wasn't a matter of one refereeing error, it was a whole half of offsides, wonky line-outs and foul play ignored. I don't blame NZ I blame Joubert for ruining what could have been one of the greatest finals.

The World Cup where the AB were so afraid to play SA in the final that they offered their referee a job as Head of NZ referees if he made sure SA didn’t beat Australia in the quarterfinals And we do remember the absolute worst and most shocking performance of refereeing ever seen on the international stage by Bryce Lawrence, who, conveniently, “apologized” afterwards, after the “job” was done. ( Apologies, I forgot about Craig Joubert and his handling of the Scotland-Australia match!!!) Well, the AB did beat France by another poor performance by the ref involved and Lo and Behold, a few months later Bryce Lawrence becomes the National Referee Manager of the NZ Rugby Union. I take nothing away from the AB’s, they really do have awesome players, but they should never have been in the final in 2011. As they say, crime does pay or is it, cheating does pay?
