      Antonelli Baseball Matt this is extremely informative. But wouldn’t this be too predictable? I feel like if you show this to any mlb pitcher they would laugh because they can put a hitter away in multiple ways when they have 2 strikes on the hitter. Obviously were taught to expand while having instinct plate discipline with 2 strikes and be a tough out. Should we just look to go opposite field with 2 strikes like jon jay is doing in this video and or execute on a mistake (missed locations meant to be junk but hangs or a fastball away that doesn’t tail that just stays over the heart of the plate)

    Hey Matt so I'm playing division 1 baseball next year and I love this video and all your videos. The one question I have is whether or not you recommend sacrificing a hard and balanced swing, more similar to a swing when you don't have two strikes, for a swing where you are off balance in order to put the ball in play. Yes, there will be less strikeouts but most of the time weak ground balls and fly balls are outs too. I would appreciate any input you have and keep up the great work!

      I think you have to balance a swing that is aggressive and can do damage while also being somewhat in control. I'm not a fan of just putting the ball in play all the time with weak contract, but you also have to make sure you stay over the ball while taking an aggressive swing. Thanks for commenting and watching!

    Can you talk about recognizing and adjusting to a breaking ball, and when/if to sit bb

    Joey Votto and Ryan Braun always come to mind. Votto is always a tough out and Braun is able to slap some really bad outside pitches into the outfield

    Could you talk about toss ups and if you're allowed to throw every ball up. Do you look at the team gear fans are wearing.

    • @AntonelliBaseball
      @AntonelliBaseball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In MLB you can throw a lot of baseballs to fans. And I usually don't notice who is in the stands really. Thanks for commenting and watching!

      Elliot Frideres he just thinks going to left center with 2 strikes right? Anything over the middle of the plate (missed location on the pitchers part which is most likely a mistake) will be damage (double, hr)?

    Would you be able to do a video on Matt Carpenters swing and batting approach? He's a dude I wish was around when I was younger, I think kids can model their game after his approach.

    Great video. But what about not loading your hands as much on two strikes? In other words, not extending your front arm as much towards the catcher during the load in order to presumably shorten your swing so making contact will hopefully be a little easier.

    • @AntonelliBaseball
      @AntonelliBaseball  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a fan of changing too much about your swing. I like taking the same swing, just changing the approach a little personally. Thanks for commenting and watching!

      Antonelli Baseball Sorry, but you're not in favor of shortening your swing with two strikes?

    I always tell mysef hit to the middle, and if I got 2 strikes I just dont swing hard, like 30 % off the power from my normal swimg, in my level I am hard to stike out
