I think it’s due to adults being too focused on their own age range, and not exactly t thinking that it’s literally, known by kids, etc.. we’ve seen it in children’s shows, too! So many sexual tension and jokes that may be more tamed, but still not okay.. people need to think less about themselves as adults and more about younger people and what’s appropriate for them!
Ok so this is an extremely common misconception but the amazing digital circus was not made for kids, in fact the creator, gooseworx said that the intended audience for TADC was for people in their early 20s, or young adults in general, they even said on tumblr that the show is definitely not going to be suitable for kids in future episodes, also i THINK they also said that it was based on a short story called i have not mouth and i must scream, which is obviously not for kids, i dont know much about i have no mouth and i must scream but i do know it has some themes kids wont even be able to digest, what happened here is that TDAC landed with the wrong audience (aka kids), and content farms saw that it appealed to kids and started making this bullshit, gooseworx is very outspoken about how the show isn't for kids and how much they hate the content farms that put out this low effort slop, i don't blame people for thinking it's for kids, it definitely has the aesthetics of a kids show, but childish aesthetics ≠ for kids, still i feel bad for gooseworx because the show is definitely a passion project for them and seeing your passion project being turned in to weird sexual low effort AI elsagate slop for kids to farm money off of when your intended audience is adults is probably really disheartening
