Because Tulum is very pretty but "Americanized". Isla Holbox still has it's charm. It's small and everyone rides around on bikes or golf carts. And the beaches there were amazing!
There was at least one ATM when we went in 2016. The only thing is that in many small towns, it's common for them to empty out completely so they're not so reliable!
