Sheesh, am I the ONLY ONE who likes the front grille of the 2018 Camry? I think it looks aggressive. I also love it how Toyota inspired the new NASCAR Camry with the front grille.

I like the new Camry design with all updates. Design, transmission, engine, mpg etc. only thing missing is android and apply car play.
I wish they update Corolla soon, not only the facelift. Corolla needs new engine, transmission, suspension, better interior and exterior design. Also with improve mpg to stay in the race with competition
Avalon will be the next to get redesigned, with TNGA platform. It's currently camouflaged for the 2019 model year.

Well...$24K for a new car that gets 53 mpg highway might be my first new car purchase. I drive 50K miles a year for work. Current car is 2008 Acura TL so I will be losing lots of style points and probably a boring interior but I only get 26-27 mpg with it. Hmmm...maybe an LE can have a nice interior and sound system? Damn...decisions, decisions.
If it's anything like the earlier hybrid camry models, it'll last you over half a million miles and i'm not exaggerating.
A dealer with aggressive pricing might be able to get you the XLE Hybrid for $28K. That's not bad for a top-of-the-line model. My Toyota dealer has 2017 models for around $26-27K (that's before they start making serious end-of-model-year discounts).
24000 for none hybrid model and hybrid model le close to 30000 and the one they test drive xle 38000 doolars

I have 2018 camry hybrid xle top of the line. Sux it has no cd player....the trunk no longer opens smoothly but shoots straight up hits rear window if not catch it....and dents happens super fast when other cars hit their doors on my ride. Will be getting rid of it in 2.4 years after lease ends good thing i got the warranty for body n interior.
Another issue I have with this video is they are showing you the xle model. The mpg on this model is not as high as they say in the video.
About 7 miles less mpg but still Nice looking. Great car

So much for "everything you ever wanted to know"... No mention of the LE model have Li-ion battery pack. No mention of the battery capacity nor range (on battery only). How about top speed on battery alone? Can it run on battery only mode?
On most other websites I have read the starting price for a 2018 Camry LE Hybrid is somewhere around $27,800. I hope Im wrong.
Where or how can I get the 24K camry hybrid? I think she confused the price of the Prius...

No real GPS on xle 38000 dollars should come with one not connected app only xse v6 have realtime GPS so sad

Would Toyota consider making a CAMRY HYBRID XSE V6? Or at least a Camry Hybrid XSE with the Quad Exhausts, also with the Two Tone Color with the Black Roof Top, and the nicer rims of the XSE? Now that's a Camry Hybrid that I would buy over an Accord Hybrid in a Heart Beat.

It has 10 years and 150 ,000 miles warranty for hybrid parts and battery in California in the USA not sure in other countries etc.
Good luck getting 53mpg. I own the 2018 Hybrid LE and have never achieved 53mpg.
@@kingpin3919 I just picked it up about 148 miles away from me and on the way home in eco mode with cruise control on my way home. I hit 49.5 mpg. Imma be doordashing tomorrow in it so i can let you know how much I get if you want.

My 2019 LE just got 54 mpg on last trip around town. It is always very eager to go into EV mode.

Great, now maybe... just maybe... Toyota can get their heads out of their rear ends and make a proper rear-wheel drive V6 Avalon hybrid, because the under powered Avalon hybrid they have now isn't much different to the old Camry hybrid at all. Good job finally getting the fold down rear seats though - that should be standard on every hybrid sedan out there.

Did Toyota get rid of the detuned 4 cylinder with hybrids? That Atkinson cycle engine means the TCH has almost no acceleration.

That’s sad. My other car is a 2006 Accord LX 2.4L also. With the TCH, I have to almost floor the gas pedal on a freeway on-ramp. With the Accord , 1/4 pedal and it’s gone.
How is it exactly the same engine as the gasoline 4 cyl? Thought the hybrids used Atkinson cycle.
Bernando They use a lesser tuned version of the new 2.5. 176 hp on the hybrid vs 203 on the standard 4-cylinder. But with that electric motor on top of it all the hybrid must accelerate nicely (better than a Prius at least)
Nathan, Is there anything mechanically different between the LE Hybrid (with the best fuel economy) and the XLE/XSE Hybrid? Is the difference in fuel economy simply due to higher weight of the upper level trims, or does the LE Hybrid have a different hybrid battery & engine set up?
The LE model gets better mileage and lithium ion batteries. On the other hand, the SE and XLE get nickle-metal hydride. No one explained the two options for batteries.
nathan adlen That's what I've read also and it makes absolutely no sense. I would have seriously considered an SE with the lithium battery and Android auto. Lots of hits with this came but a couple of misses.

So unfortunate there is no XSE hybrid. And the Scout GPS system is awful! Overall, I'm not pleased with this Camry.
Akshay Mahesh I like the new interior and the mpg numbers but that's about it. STILL no plug in version, no apple car play, and scout gps is terrible. It's a hit or miss for the front end and for me, it's a miss. And there's a horrible CVT which I personally can't stand. I'd much rather get an optima or sonata plug in with traditional automatics, 30 miles of EV range, apple car play, power folding mirrors, longer warranty, and to me, better looking exteriors

Why are you so nit-picky? Sure you can fold down the seats... but the battery pack is still in the way... you pretty much only get a small pass-through space
Cvt transmissions cost the manufacture approximately 35% less than a regular automatic transmission, that is why they use the Cvt , to keep the cost and the price point low in this hybrid model. I prefer the 8 speed auto.
Toyota uses an eCVT which is an integral part of its hybrid drivetrain design -- not a cost saving. The transmission works with the engine, motors and battery to deliver the high fuel economy. It provides instant torque off the line and keeps the engine at its maximum power point during hard acceleration. High efficiency, high reliability and low emissions result from Toyota's hybrid design.

not too crazy about the front end, I'm a accord guy. Don't like Toyota, or Lexus. Toyota left a bad taste when they decided to cut cost and made interior all plastic and fake carbon.
i took my son to mt lemmon today and we saw three broken down Acura's and he asked why people buy those cars and wondered if they were cheaper(hes ten) and i said oddly enough they are the same price as the Toyota and that Honda has an unfounded reputation for reliability and even the guy with the broken down car will buy another cause he thinks its reliable...Honda stopped making good stuff in the mid 90's.
or it could be owner neglect. even a Toyota will break down if not maintained.

It's currently got 300k miles and aside from the transmission going at around 250k miles, and a worn motor mount, it's been completely problem free and every single part of the car is still in working order. AC has been blowing ice cold so far this summer and surprisingly the leather interior parts still look good and it's got no rust.. I'd consider it a fantastic car.
I want to love this car. "It's a Toyota Camry, they last forever!", I think. But I can't see beyond that horrendous catastrophe of a grille. What was Toyota trying to do? Make it look sporty? To me it just looks tacky and hideous. I'm eagerly waiting a review of the 2018 Accord. It's gonna be sexy...

Lexus is FAR from simple these days. I see a ton of design cues from the 2018 Lexus LS in this camry (specifically, the SE and XSE models)
Have you seen a modern Lexus today? Absolutely hideous. Lexus fucked up big time. My grandma decided to buy this car over a Lexus because of how god awful the front end of every Lexus looks.

SlimPeas23 I've got a 6.7 cummins as well and love it and use it when it's needed. I also don't like pissing money away to putt around town when I don't need 900ft lbs of torque to get dinner or groceries. That's when our Camry gets the call.

I find it hard to believe she's an expert--she seems a bit unclear about the product. Oh, and the new interior is smaller than the old one--who are these people? They don't know what they're talking about! Head room is down! Shoulder room is down--passenger space is down! Lady--you need to read about your product! And the XLE does not get 52mpg! And I'm fairly certain the tires are different on the hybrids--the size might not be, but the hybrids likely all have low rolling resistance tires--they did on the old models. I haven't noticed any comments about it but it's likely. Maybe just the hybrid LE has them?
