  • The death of the patriarch is the catalyst for the Sai family's reunion and regeneration in Selasi's accomplished debut novel. Dr. Sai was an admired surgeon but his private life left pain and secrets in its wake. As his far-flung adult children return to their mother in Ghana, the narrative traces their different ways of coming to terms with their memories.
This event took place at Politics & Prose bookstore, Washington, D.C., on March 15 2013.
