Spot on, Eric. Not all technology - at least in practice - is benign. It may be my age talking, but I have little to no desire to consume information from strong AI agents impersonating humans. At this point, perhaps because I can detect the AI-component of those sources, I immediately stop the video and never visit the channel again. I simply do not trust such sources. I want to deal with the real thing. Now, the problem, as you've laid out, is that I will not likely be able - in the future - to discern such sources from real humans. That's scary. The bad guys will use this to advantage. Sure, I believe I have enough wisdom to discern a bad message from a good one, but the young will not have that advantage. the telltale sign of modern ai is that it simply to good. the generated answer are generated in a very short space of time, they are more often than not correct, well written and take a lot of facets into account and its tailored in an clear and understandable way. the latest generations and developments in the area is now concentrating on agency. much of that development is done by ai:s themselves. this is where the alignment problem pops up. other intersteing topics is long horizon planning where ai:s has developed tremendously just in a few short months.
