The name of the Android app is "Intervalometer".
This is the story about how I aimed to create the highest (technical) video ever to be shot on a smartphone.
Smartphone manufacturers have been coming with some really bold claims lately. "Shoot like a pro", "DSLR like quality" are some of the claims we have seen. I wanted to test out how good these cameras really are today.
I went out on a road trip around Western Norway to really push my smartphone to the limit.

Yup. And if you can make ur own custom lens for the camera, you can also get even more personal with the results.
With custom lenses you can take phone cameras to a whole new level... But it's kinda cancer having to test multiple different lenses to eventually find one that works on top of the existing phone lens cos these companies don't like to release the exact specs of their lenses like the exact focal length of each lens inside etc, so it's a lot of messing around and every phone is different but it's worth it if you wanna get more personalised results

As someone who comes from Norwegian heritage this reminds me of how far I need to move Norway up on my shortlist. As a climber I'm having a hard time justifying the extra expense of weight and space that a full frame rig would cost on a multi-day adventure. The images this ultra minimal setup is able to capture is still quite phenomenal with little extra pain.

I think this is a Huawei P30 Pro, but not quite sure. However, he is right, any top end device should produce equal results nowadays. Absolutely Stunning. Even though some improvisation was needed with the ND filter and gradient filter. How awesome would it be if all the R&D from smartphone cameras would be transferred to way better hardware of modern cameras.

Super interesting! Thanx for sharing. I'd have lots of question to ask but I'll just go with two:
    1) how did you control the exposure ramping for the day to night sequences on the phone?
    2) how did you synchronize the slider to the phone shutter (if you did)? Or did you just set it for a very slow motion and let the phone shoot pictures at a regular interval (with no synchronization between the two)?
    All the best!

Morten, try to always be positive towards other people(I don't mean you are negative, No. The moment i saw this film i was and still am impressed with many things from you). People, they can treat you inappropriate without them knowing that they are invading your morals or values or space. It happens many times. The tourists with their busses just know they paid to be there, they are enjoying their time for a couple of minutes or hours.. Imagine if you were there the day before or after. You'd have never met them. Stepping out of your car, giving a couple of hellos and explain to some of them what you are doing with your smartphone and you'd definitely gain some SUBSCRIBERS and probably new friends.

You skills and methods are stupendous and nearly perfect as an art form. Your camera timelapses are at times surreal and at others simply gorgeous with bright colors, clarity and resolution. Fantastisk video! Planlegger turer til i sommer og lurte på hvor disse plassene er? Spesielt den siste plassen du var på.

Really enjoyable video. The phone managed really well, and your final timelapse is great.
That mountain at the end is Romdalshorn. Lovely memories of that mountain. Slept near the top way back in 1980 when i was just 16. My first trip outside of Britain.
