Honestly this is the perfect case of bad parenting on 2 different fronts. You have the father who is physically and emotionally abusive. Then you have the mom. Neglecting her song aswell just less than what the dad is. The. Cheating on top of that further pushes the family apart. Then leaves her child with the man she knows is an alcoholic and physically abusive.
I personally don't think she was actually cheating but she still def neglected him.
Remind me so much of Gabriel Hernandez. This game made me think a lot about him.
The part where the mom just leaves the kid alone always gets me, why didn't she take him and leave then? The man was literally beating on her in an earlier conversation

RICOOO, fun fact/not-so-fun fact, almost everything at the beginning of the story foreshadows the end. That's what the doll(Ron) meant by [he was trying to hint at his death]. For example, when u first meet the doll, Ron says that his neck is crooked and the doll says its because "my master" aka the dad makes mistakes sometimes. It's foreshadowed because Ron died from being strangled and having his neck broken by his father. One other example is the beer. At the beginning of the game when the beer started floating and broke, that foreshadows the part where the dad started to drink and then get mad and kill Ron. And u already got the foreshadowing as to why the dad was crashing out when he was "locked up" by Mr Red Face. (These foreshadowing events are easy to spot after finishing the game, but I just thought I would point out the other things lol)
On top of tht the closet being the light, the other kids, the prison. The closet in general. The going to see ur parents after u took out red face showing denial and hallucinations
Yeah! I noticed a lot of it whilst editing! Most definitely made me appreciate the game more!
At first I didn’t understand why the mom never realized the kid was dead. But they said that in Vietnam, i believe that’s where the developers are from, you can only see ghosts at night and Ron’s mom works all day and comes home at night and saw Ron and when she said she will take a day off to stay with him she must’ve woken up and saw that her son was nowhere to be seen and remembered how much he was in closets and checked both just to see her dead kid. I also find it weird that she didn’t notice the smell of her kid’s corpse for 14 days

That’s crazy, especially the storyline, including other children, who were also murdered by their parents. It’s kind of sad that there are actual people who exist who murdered their children every day.

Dang, good observation there! I just thought it was because the Dad was HEAVILY drinking before the act. Not to mention, very angry. Both of those combos would make most people's faces turn all ruddy. He was literally "red-faced".
@@KindredKeepsake ohh thats a great one too! it can also be because of drinking as we seen him get red after drinking or him getting pissed off.. it has so many layers.. one of the reasons for my observation was the event after his mom found him in the closet telling him that he shouldve took his meds.. before passing out, he suddenly got a flashback of mr. redface (his dad) during the choking and the face isnt the only red one but the whole vision including the background

Rico idk if u know this (it’s not official) but a lot of people think this is based off of the Gabriel Fernandez case. (Heavy TW: abuse, death, torture, rabbit hole digging)
So pretty much in that case, the parents abusive, sadly. And one day at school, he asked the teacher, “Is it normal to bleed when your parents discipline you?” (OBVIOUSLY not like that, I’m paraphrasing) after he was hit with a metal buckle. And she called social services.
(TW: you’re gonna get pissed tf off)
The social worker lady, her name was Stefanie Rodriguez, and she assigned herself to the case after hearing this. And a few days later, he came to school with chunks of hair missing and a lump on his lip. Another day, he said he was shot in the face by his mother, with a BB gun.
The teacher then tried to call the social worker, but she never answered. The kids great aunt and her wife called social workers 3 times and the sheriff’s 2 times, regarding the safety of him. Many people called the police after seeing his injuries.
1-3 months later, his dad and mom decided to beat him worse. They doused him in pepper spray, forced him to eat his own throw-up, and locked him in a cabinet with a sock in his mouth to muffle his screams. What’s worse is that he thought this was normal for parents to do. He didn’t want to tell anyone anything, cause he loved his parents.
All because his dad suspected he was homosexual.

@@HeindsAG the game is pretty clearly not based on this, there is absolutely no similarities apart from the fact a child was being abused, this sort of thing where a father murders a child to “get revenge” on the child’s mother is a relatively common thing and i have no idea what lead people to belive this game was based on that case in any way.

For those who didn't notice the doll has a cracked neck because of how he died and the dad was shaking in the white room bc he was hallucinating his dead son coming out the closet (when he kept saying stop punishing me and the hand implying when he grabbed his sons neck with the doll being beaten up) and the mom crying in the same white room from when she found out her son died also the spell is the evidence motel card for the police to find him

@IWAJVR I didn't know it by name but I have seen it. YaboyRoshi played it 2 weeks ago and I guess it slipped my mind. Yeah that story was rough too. The Developer of The Hole made a game along the lines of "It's Just a Prank" or something like that which also has Agatha in it. The Hole almost feels like a Sequal to give her more context and that sucks

I played this game before and it was fun, sad, and pretty disturbing at the same time. Considering he has an abusive father choking out his son and the whole redface villian was his abusive dad, also his hallucinations and that whole mission is because of him forgetting his medicine. It's pretty sad but with a lot of story and it's fun with pretty disturbing jumpscares, you should play it!

i just realized, the Ron doll had his neck to loose or whatever, and it caused his head to dangle off to the side, and Mr red face/dad killed the real ron by snapping his neck, and beacuse of this, his body's neck was, again hanging from the side, i just realized the connection.
