- The actor discusses his initial hesitation to working on a fantasy show, but how much Tyrion has meant to him over eight seasons.
Game of Thrones returns for its final season on April 14.
He should’ve won an award for his acting when his character was put on trial. That was his best season. He did amazing!!

I just realized that watching this too, he's the only one who's met at least one member of each main family, been to the wall, to Essos, seen the white walkers, etc. Hmm, makes me wonder if that means he'll survive the last episode.

In the beginning, when Peter almost declined the role because of his “size” in the fantasy world. That’s pretty much saying midgets are always playing the stereotypical role in fantasy stories and getting made fun of. Good thing this one developed to be the best character in the series.
Can we please not use the term "midget"? It's very derogatory - in the same way "retard"or "nigger"is. He has a form of dwarfism - the same type as I do.
@@leisaprowd6324 I don't think 'midget' is demeaning. It means a pituitary dwarf , who is well-proportioned but small. Peter Dinklage has achondroplasia, which means a large head, full-sized torso and stunted arms and legs. There are different sorts of dwarfism.

The scene where Danerys gives him the pin, and makes him her Hand, was so moving and his acting was just superb. Someone finally believed in him.
Tyrion was my favourite character on GOT. Peter Dinklage is a fine fine actor, and he made Tyrion such a loved member of the show.

You can see the entire cast's love and sincerity for being in an almost 10-year fantasy tv show- their roles brought profound marks in each of their life and they also mark in our hearts and minds, that's why it is difficult to let go, to let go of something quite special and it feels like you dont know what to say neither think as the show's about to end days from now. You cant really put so much hate to the characters because you tend to appreciate how theyre being played with as well as they have a unique journey,as Peter says,"it's like being in love," thus, there can be no bigger as the Thrones for the next few years,Im glad to be part of its global phenomenon.

I remember back in 2004 I was 19 and somehow landed a gig as one of the managers of a small independent theatre. The Station Agent was one of the first films I ran, things were still 35mm then, and I watched that movie so many times and fell in love with Peter Dinklage as an actor. It's just amazing to watch as his career has grown and so many others have been able to appreciate his talent. Was late to the GOT party (wanted to read books first but that just isn't happening and finally gave up) It's just incredible to see this man's evolution as an actor, though his talent was always incredible.
Tyrion and Jon snow are some of my favorite characters for this series!
I feel like I've known him forever. I also feel GOT is the best movie I've ever witnessed in my lifetime. I'm 71 years old now and have watched the entire series 2 x's and will again. I feel at home, when I do, I feel like I lived in those times, just like others do I'm sure.
I think anyone with a fantasy of being a well-versed actor would've loved to have worked with Charles Dance. He put a perfect touch on so many movies

Him referring to it as “This damned show” just makes me love him even more. Lol. He’s obviously extraordinarily grateful to have brought this character to life for all of us and we are better for it, but there must be so many complications to your private life by being such a central character to one of the biggest shows in television history. It’s natural to have some mixed feelings about it and I love him for acknowledging that.

2:40-2:55 perfectly describes the exact reason why I wanted Tyrion to sit on the Iron Throne as king. That, and I think it would have been a rather poetic ending for that character. I think he would have made a wonderful ruler.

Watching this I realized that season 8 is so hated because fans expected God knows what. I kinda get it but at the same time I also think that we should cut it some slack. Not for creators, not for fans that are actually happy with season 8 and not in the name of fighting hate on the internet. For actors who have put huge part of their life to became one with the character and now they have to say goodbye to their other parts. For Peter. For Kit. For Emilia. For Rory. For so many other people from the cast. C'mon guys! We had such a great time together.
P.S Creators made such a good show. I know season 8 for a lot of us is not what we expected. But still...

Honestly, the exact reason as to why Peter the actor didn't want to take the role, is one of the many reasons as to why I and later convinced friends were reluctant to even give the show a chance. But all one by one became fans, and all without exception came to favour Tyrion the most. Which is an enormous credit to Peter the actor. I now always look forward to his next role.

He’s playing one of the most iconic characters in modern TV history and he’s very recognizable. He probably gets mobbed whenever he’s in public. I saw Ben Affleck in a bar one time years ago, he was just trying to have a quiet drink and he had a dozen people around him pretty quick. I remember thinking “Jesus, just let the guy have a drink.” I bet Dinklage gets that a lot.
