It never stops amazing me what a transition in condition that becomes each horse who come under your care. She looks so healthy and shiny. Even though green, she has the look of a high priced eventing horse. It's evident all the hard work that is put into training each horse. I'm sure, each one has it's own set of challenges and keeps Isidro on his toes. Great work.
I talked to an old calvary Sargent who said another good emergency stop when you don't have the room to circle, is to pull one rein straight up and the other back. It tips the head and locks them up. It probably wouldn't work as well in the long term, but if you can't circle, it works well.
Mares are a tough sale around Northern Nevada it seems.. some ranches prohibit them on the property.. This little filly I took in on trade is soft but will explode into a full buck..

I am going to try this with my gelding. He is scared of everything and stopping him just makes him more spooky for the whole session.
