Rawa High School trip - Part 1: Perth

In late October, the Murrkangunya (high school) students from Rawa Community school in Punmu set off to follow in the footsteps of their elders and hike some of the infamous Cape to Cape track in the South West. For many of the students this was their first time travelling on a plane, and thanks to Newcrest this experience was made possible only a short 2 hours from ngurra(home). After an exciting plane trip up in the clouds, the group landed in Perth and began an action-packed adventure.
Watch Part 1 as the students navigate life in a big city and learn how to safely cross busy roads and catch public transport; buses, trains, and ferries. They met animals from around the world at the Zoo, see the incredible knowledge and artwork of their families displayed in Perth museums and galleries, and meet inspiring football players from the West Coast Eagles Women’s and Men’s ALF team.
