Tbf, mario and luigi's designs are different than they were in the nes, so mx would be need to be updated in order to fit in better

OG MX is just a big, bulky version of Mario with a creepy cartoony face.
This MX is much more terrifying, being smaller but with a face distorted beyond recognition, with a mouth that can pretty much shape itself into what horrific shape imaginable for consuming his victims. OG MX just straight-up slaughters his victims rather than eating them, so All-Stars MX really stepped it up.

Wow, this might literally be the first exe-style game I am aware of that isn't hot garbage! Because for the most part, they all seemed like such lazy efforts.
I really, really like the middle twist, where the game resets; and suddenly introduces mechanics from later Mario game; like the ability to grab shells, and spin jump. The last scene was legitmately creepy too...
Right up until the skeleton hand popping out made the powerup noise; that made me laugh. Then the "King Mario" at the end also made me laugh...
But no, the ambient music with the tortured Luigi scream... Chef's kiss all the way.
I am genuinely shocked, cause even Sonic.exe was... Just... Well, an Ice cream cone full of dookie, topped with corn.
