I was very lucky to have a personal tour of Broughton Castle with Lord saye & sele. Seeing the history of the castle with my own eye's. I was brought up in North Newington.

My grandmother was born on Constitution Hill in Banbury, and worked in Broughton Hall from the age of 14. My parents have had afternoon tea with Lord and Lady Saye & Sele, who own it.

I wonder what Banbury would be like if the castle and church remained, surely a jewel of the county

What a shame that the church was demolished just because it needed repairs. That sounds like something that would happen here in the States: knock it down and replace with something hideous. Except for that, I have yet to see anything in the Cotswolds that is less than splendid. Thanks!

Why the demolish group still exist?old buildings are not hystory buildings, the reality from history needs the conservation, destruction hurts.
