The Relationship Between the Pelvic Floor & the Jaw - Feldenkrais for Prolapse and Pelvic Health

  • This Feldenkrais practice is created to support your pelvic floor and connect with it, rather than putting pressure on it. The teacher Lavinia Plonka is amazing. We will use the following techniques:
    -Breathing
    -Movement
    -Awareness practice
When I experienced symptomatic prolapse I was scared to move at all. I felt extremely limited by not being able to move or trust my body. This sequence would have been perfect for me. It is also great for anyone on their healing journey to reconnect with your pelvis and spine, creating flow in some of the most important parts of the body.

    What is MoonRise?
moonrise.health/ is a women's health platform where we give women who are facing life quality reducing symptoms content, coaching and community to support their healing journey. My husband and I founded MoonRise after my own experience with prolapse. Now we are building a beautiful online community and being a part of a movement to create paradigm shifts in the world of women’s health.
My Support Program to Heal Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD)
The program we offer to help women heal PFD takes place over 12 weeks and is designed to address the root cause of pelvic floor dysfunctions, which is scarred and frozen fascia in the pelvic floor.
To do this we offer many holistic-based healing methods. Some of them are foundational, which means they are an essential piece of the healing puzzle. And the other methods are called booster programs, which complement the foundational methods and are chosen by you based on your interest and curiosity.
This program includes a personalized schedule of daily follow-along videos and 1-to-1 coaching from me that consists of guidance on the healing methods, along with mental and emotional support and being a part of a flourishing community.
Finally, this program comes with a ‘results guarantee’ or your money back.
What to expect from the program?
This is not a quick fix and the healing doesn’t stop taking place at the end of the 12 weeks. Of course, you can feel much better during this 12-week period, but the bigger picture is learning that a healing journey has no exact time frame or expiration date.
At the same time, our customers experience a big ‘shift’ in these 12 weeks, whereby they are symptom-free for minutes, hours, days, or possibly weeks at a time.
This ‘shift’ is all it takes for women to experience and know that healing is possible. And with consistent practice, a positive mindset, and the desire to heal they will get there.
This knowledge is felt on a physical, emotional, and mental level and once this happens there is no turning back. Only forward movement and progress towards reversing all symptoms, feeling like yourself again, and experiencing true health from the inside out.
    You are healing

Wow, that's amazing. I feel a bit woozy but in a blissful way. I've had some unique issues with my body that I've never known anyone else to have. I suffered with severe constipation throughout my 20s and of course went through conventional ways of trying to solve that until meeting a wonderful pelvic floor specialist that saved my life. She taught me how many mechanics of my body could affect pelvic floor and pointed out to me that the way that I breath is restricted. I never got my breathing in check except this exercise immediately had me relaxed and inhaling in a way I don't normally; Then I noticed a ringing in my ears -that I experience constantly, decreased. I never noted anything off with my TMJ before but now I realize how incredibly impactful incremental adjustments can be! Thank you!

Thank you! I've had something going on causing pain in my teeth for months, maybe even a year now, but the dentist has told me 2x that it's not my teeth, though it's been getting worse. I did have injuries to the jaw long ago, that seem to be showing up now. More recently, my ear on that left side has felt clogged, but after doing this exercise, it has opened up, and my bite does seem to be more aligned. Feldenkrais is amazing, and I'm so thankful this video came up in my suggestions 🧡

I'm too fatigued to watch this right now, but I've read some comments and it looks like this may be right for me. I had TMJ as a teen to the point that my mouth was stuck shut. Luckily my uncle was a renowned dentist who discovered an important, non-surgical fix for TMJ early on. But I also got RA and have it in my left jaw. In addition, I have Sjogren's, Raynaud's, ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, BAM (from gallbladder removal), severe IBS, diverticulitis, osteo-everything and a very messed up spine. I use an electric wheelchair. I eat clean with very little sugar and am considering going back to a carnivore diet or swinging to the extreme and going vegan. As I am hypoglycemic and it's difficult to stand up very long in the kitchen, whatever I choose has to be easy. I only cook my own gluten-free meals to stay away from today's chemicals and additives. I will watch your video with great interest as soon as I can.

My body is a little tilted towards right and I have Kyphosis as well. Now whatever I do my pain doesn't subside at all. Will these exercises address any of these issues? Also, many people suggested that due to lack of Vitamin D bone deficiencies occur which leads to such cases. Any information on that? Thanks for this video though 🙌♥️

Please look into self massage for lymphatic drainage. I don't have kyphosis or the protruding jaw issues, but I had chronic, debilitating pain involving dozens of issues with migraines, cold sores, sinus and chest congestion, joint pain, the same issue with my jaw and teeth hurting and three different dentists telling me they could find nothing to treat. I went to doctors, specialists, had all the tests run, and nothing. My rheumatologist was taking 9-13 vials of my blood every few months and could not find a cause. I went to a pain clinic, a chiropractor, a hypnotherapist, and a psychologist. I exhausted my insurance and ran out of money for more doctor visits, and was so tired that no amount of sleep was enough. I prayed to God to help me find relief or take me from this world, bc I was not living my life. I had young children to raise and had become a burden on my husband, who had to do everything for our four children and me, as well as provide for us. I could not commit to anything, and often had to cancel plans on short notice. People stopped inviting me anywhere, and I was actually relieved.
My husband had the idea to bring me smoothies twice a day, bc I had lost weight and was barely eating anything. It took six weeks of two smoothies a day before I could get out of bed for more than a few hours at a time, and I owe him my life for it. Even so, the real game changer that gave me my life back was the self massage for lymphatic drainage. The smoothies gave me enough energy to read without falling asleep, and I read everything I could find. The first time I tried the massage was crazy, bc my head drained like a flood for several hours. My headaches went from roughly 10-15 days per month to maybe 10 per year, but they no longer persist for days on end. As soon as I feel one coming on, I do the massage and interrupt it from coming on fully. I cannot emphasize enough how much relief it gave me, unlike anything else I ever tried. They say pain is the result of inflammation, and inflammation comes from the lymphatic system. Ever since I discovered this technique, I tell anyone who will listen about it. I would not wish chronic pain on my worst enemy, bc it is a miserable thing to suffer. I have no idea if it will work for you, but it is worth a try. It is easy, simple, does not require much effort or time, can be done in public bc it is subtle, and you can find a tutorial video here on youtube. I would post a link, but youtube would hide the comment if I did. If interested, please search self massage for lymphatic drainage, and try it. I wish you the absolute best health in the universe, and especially relief from pain. Nobody should have to endure unrelenting pain. Nobody. Cheers!

Thank you for this. I recently stopped hiking and would like to return to it. I experienced a lot of pain after a hike and went to the doctor. He said it’s slight, but I met an older woman in a dental waiting room and she told me that she completely collapsed. It terrified me. … so I started doing keigels ever since. That was before my issue and I later learned from research that you can do keigels the wrong way. So I learned breath work and awareness. I also learned that it is common for thin women years after a pregnancy. Basically, everyone is at risk for prolapse and it’s important to maintain strength and change habits including how we use the bathroom. Most women don’t like to talk about it, but I’m grateful for the elderly woman’s advice. I am a jaw and stomach clencher. I had to learn awareness.

The soul controls the brain and body! It is your energy field! What if pelvic floor problems were caused by pain filled words that you speak or hear being spoken around you? The jaw holds meridians that connect to the pelvic regions and legs. What you eat can also influence the pelvis. The jaw relates to what you consume in life. From food to painful events you experience or hear about, you must chew or consume or metabolize the experiences physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! Even each tooth is energetically connected to another body part. A cavity can be caused by the weakened metabolism of lifes' experiences. The soul is dependant on the ability of the body to stay grounded to the earth! If this is absent then the soul is unable to metabolize life's experiences. Fears and anticipation of fearful events from the past can keep the soul ungrounded or disconnected from the body. Any amount of ungroundedness keeps the body disconnected from life giving vital chi in the earth from moving up into the body and circulating back down to the earth! Stomach, bladder, kidney and gall bladder meridians are all downward moving, grounding, full body meridians. They all help to get the soul grounded in order to properly metabolize life! When this is achieved, then the shorter upward moving energetic channels can bring chi back up into the core of the body to connect with the physical organs. 4 meridians control grounding. And 8 others wait for these 4 to do their job first. If those 4 can never move vitality down to the feet, then the body can never feel the connection with the physical earth under their feet to bring that vitality back up into the core. A cell phone is held at the head where these 4 energetic grounding meridians start and the vitality it cut off instantly by this device! The hand also has points for lung, heart, pericardium, large and small interstine and triple warmer meridians (triple warmer is a fight or flight meridian). If this one meridian is over active then there will be no grounding and the body's nervous system gets fried quickly! If there is no energy coming up from the earth, then there is no energy to feed the vital organs of the core body and it burns our very quickly! This is the effect of a cell phone on the energy field of the body! Focusing only on the physical level of the body brings only temporary relief. All aspects of life must be metabolized to bring health and wellbeing! And the use of a cell phone destroys all life!

Thank you for sharing such a thought-provoking perspective! It's fascinating to consider the interconnectedness between our words, emotions, and physical well-being, particularly in relation to the pelvic floor and overall energy flow. Your insights into the role of the jaw, meridians, and the grounding of the soul add a unique dimension to understanding health.

My husband and I have REPEATEDLY had videos appear in our yt feed that have coincided with EXTREMELY random thoughts. I can also attest that more often than not (prob 70% of the time) when I'm watching YT, at the precise moment of me falling asleep, whatever video I'm watching will STOP. ( I know this because when I wake up, the red line showing progress is exactly the last thing I remember seeing. My husband did not believe me for the longest time, but now that we have Chromecast, and we watch YT on our TV, by casting from our phones, he has witnessed, time and time again, as we both sit in the living room, beside each other, in our recliners, he sees me start to doze off, and as soon as my breathing changes (he always can tell when I'm asleep, he's told me my breathing changes, even when we are back to back in bed, he can hear exactly when I fall asleep) the video will either stop, and bump back into the YT homescreen, or it will stop and bump out of the YT app, and the chromecast screen saver will appear on the TV! Then he has to log back in, and pick another video to start playing. I am convinced this is proof that technology is far more advanced then they are telling us! In fact, I recently saw where they are working on, and soon we will be able to, control our cell phones strictly with our minds, and not have to touch the phone! Now we already know from past years, when they tell us they are developing something, it was already researched, developed and completed at least 20 years before telling the public. Feels a bit invasive when this happens to my TV tho....😳😶

Is it a feedback loop where helping one helps the other or is it best to focus most on jaw? Does the predominant modulator or core causal area vary?
