Personal opinion/tip: Don't entry trades anymore when the price has already diverged by a large margin (how much exactly is left for yourself to find out) from the baseline, once the confirmation indicator confirms it. The risk/reward ratio is likely stacked against you at that point. Also the baseline exit signal will come "late" in this case, since the price has to move a lot into the wrong direction to cross it.

Once again VP delivers! For everyone who just joined, he is not kidding about watching the previous videos. If you start here it is like walking into a calculus class without having taken algebra. Luckily it wont hurt your brain as much as those classes, but you do need to get the foundation first because they all tie into his overall philosophy of the market. I promise it is worth it. I have seen a lot of forex videos. This is by far the best information available. I am almost positive that there is some charlatan right now binge watching these and putting together a course he will sell you for $$. But don't do it, it is all available here, its free, explained very well and production value is high!

Baseline is For Real! After testing a couple dozen of them with my system, it has improved my total win percentage across all pairs by 3%! Just gotta keep testing and be adamant!

So for a short for example, If the price is above the baseline, but your 2 confirmation and your volume all say short, you would still enter once price closes below the baseline? Provided the short signal is still in alignment. I've been ignoring them as a no trade until I get a new signal that agrees with my baseline.

Oh this is the first video I saw! Thanks to you, I went back to start from the beginning. 6 month's later I have a system, works on all timeframes(I prefer the daily), it's got a Sharpe ratio of 1.12 annually ❤️ still building!!
My baseline is simply an 8EMA. Fantastic on H1 and higher TFs. BTW. I love and use MA crossovers. i.e. 3, 8emas and 14 simple MA. I also use a 5% Williams Percent Range for my trade entry confirmation. Pip targets are set in accordance to a 14 ATR
If you put the chaiken indicator on a low setting (i have mine at 9) it's really good at keeping you out of chop. I've been using it as my volume indicator and only enter trades when it's going above the zero line. So far it's given me about 200 pips and I just started using it last week. I did back test it and it was good 8 out of 10 trades, so far I haven't lost one
Second time watching this, first time when I was still new and before I had even done any C1 testing. Now I'm actually a lot further down the road with a months worth of backtesting etc I actually understand what these rules are more clearly.
When your system tells you to go long, and the sentiment is saying most traders are going long. Do you hesitate to follow your system, and ignore the entry signal?

ever since I seen you 2nd confirmation indicator video last week. I started testing with it. Already have great results. within 5 days I went 4 trades out of 10. Compared in the last 5 months 4 out of 30 trades!

Wow, been using the baseline and exiting when the trade closes below or above. Has really changed my trading account (for the better). I use to hold on to trades until they hit the s/l or t/p, come what may. This has turned what would have been full losses into small losses. The effect is incredible and removes a lot of the emotional roller coaster. Take a small loss, no big deal, move on to another trade. Went from feeling like a complete loser when S/L hit to feeling 'eh, it didn't work out, plenty of other trades out there.'
VP, I watched all the material (already thanked you!) and came back to this video because I have a doubt. First our Main confirmation indicator used to be our trigger, this means we wait for a sign and then we take a look into the rest of the algorithm. Now we added the Baseline, and thoose two are now triggers. If the Baseline says yes, and the Main confirmation indicator also says yes, but the Main confirmation indicator was already saying yes (lets say no more than 7 candles), this is also a "go"? I am a bit confused because normally the trigger was always "when the line crosses the 0 level" not "the line already crossed the 0 level" on the Main confirmation indicator. Let's say, with the Baseline also as a trigger, we kind of kill the "one candle rule" applied to the Main confirmation indicator and we take a look on the "bridge too far" now. Thanks

The 20SMA middle band of the BOLLINGER could be the nearest baseline for Swing Traders. The farthest baseline would be the GOLDEN CROSS ( 50EMA upward over 200EMA ) & the DEATH CROSS ( 50EMA downward below 200EMA ) for Position Traders
I've been trading Forex for years and this baseline/confirmation indicator set up has completely changed my trading and results. Once you find the correct mix its beautiful and easy to use. THANK YOU!!!!
12:58 - Please can someone explain to me why this is not a bridge too far? Episode 34 if the Technical Analysis Playlist said that if price crosses the baseline and gives a signal but your two lines cross confirmation indicator gave the signal 7+ candles ago, you don't take the trade. By the looks of it, the confirmation indicator here crossed 8 candles ago. In attempt to answer my own question, I am assuming that the bridge too far rule does not apply here because the baseline had actually been in agreement with the confirmation indicator short signal less than 7 candles ago before price briefly crossed above it and back below it again. In the examples of 'bridges too far' in Technical Analysis Ep 34, price had been on the same side of the baseline (in disagreement with the confirmation indicator) for the entire 7 candles when counting back and so the trade I mentioned above is not the same situation. I'm posting this because I'm worried I've misunderstood.

So now I'm getting my 18 yr old brother in your way of trading. He hated to hear of forex because he use to do the 15min chart and lost his money but ever since I showed him your way. He's loving the backtesting part so much he decided to do it on his own with his computer (I kinda needed his help since I only have a phone to work with). We forgot our baseline yesterday smh. Newbie mistakes.
While candle closes on the baseline and all other indicators agree we take the trade(including 7+ advanced tactics). Next day or few days later the candle closes the otherwise we close the trade for small loss. If again the candle closes in our favor with all indicators aligned, should we still apply the 7+ Advanced Tactics on the Main Confirmation Indicator?

Is there any conceptual difference between a baseline indicator and a confirmation indicator? It seems to me that when one gives a signal, you see if the other one agrees, regardless of which one is which. I know that in later videos we learn extra baseline considerations (like pullbacks), but is the only difference the requirement that a baseline be a price (like a MA)?

VP, This Video came out way before your "Advanced Tactic" video re your rule called " Abridge too Far". Therefore where you say that you took a trade when the candle closed up above the baseline in your example and made a profit BUT according to the later video, you wouldn't have taken that trade either because the Aroon was saying go long for more than 7 candles!!!

Hey VPs If I am correct you said multiple times that you would take a small loss of 35 pips or something like that but after that price would have retracted in your favour, 24:20 so basically you wouldn't even have taken those losses because your stop loss would have been above that(because your ATR will almost always be over 40 on 1d chart) and it wouldn't hit your stop loss, you would stay in the trade and make a profit in the end. Correct me if I'm wrong.
there are other exit rules> (which ever comes first, you exit the trade) 1. if your C1 (first confirmation) gave you a different signal 2. Price closes on the opposite side of your Baseline 3. If your exit indicator gave a signal to exit. 4. Price actually hitting your stop loss. Stop loss is for *emergency* exit if ever price went crazy and move more than the ATR. So for your question rule no.2 answers that.
MT4 tip: click the mouse wheel to auto pull up crosshairs. Loved learning this and wanted to share with the commune

So for a short for example,
If the price is above the baseline, but your 2 confirmation and your volume all say short, you would still enter once price closes below the baseline? Provided the short signal is still in alignment. I've been ignoring them as a no trade until I get a new signal that agrees with my baseline.

Oh this is the first video I saw! Thanks to you, I went back to start from the beginning. 6 month's later I have a system, works on all timeframes(I prefer the daily), it's got a Sharpe ratio of 1.12 annually ❤️ still building!!
My baseline is simply an 8EMA. Fantastic on H1 and higher TFs. BTW. I love and use MA crossovers. i.e. 3, 8emas and 14 simple MA. I also use a 5% Williams Percent Range for my trade entry confirmation. Pip targets are set in accordance to a 14 ATR
Mine is set up kind’ve similar to yours. 20MA 8MA & 40MA on 1H TF and up.
If you put the chaiken indicator on a low setting (i have mine at 9) it's really good at keeping you out of chop. I've been using it as my volume indicator and only enter trades when it's going above the zero line. So far it's given me about 200 pips and I just started using it last week. I did back test it and it was good 8 out of 10 trades, so far I haven't lost one

Wow, been using the baseline and exiting when the trade closes below or above. Has really changed my trading account (for the better). I use to hold on to trades until they hit the s/l or t/p, come what may. This has turned what would have been full losses into small losses. The effect is incredible and removes a lot of the emotional roller coaster. Take a small loss, no big deal, move on to another trade. Went from feeling like a complete loser when S/L hit to feeling 'eh, it didn't work out, plenty of other trades out there.'

I watched all the material (already thanked you!) and came back to this video because I have a doubt.
First our Main confirmation indicator used to be our trigger, this means we wait for a sign and then we take a look into the rest of the algorithm.
Now we added the Baseline, and thoose two are now triggers. If the Baseline says yes, and the Main confirmation indicator also says yes, but the Main confirmation indicator was already saying yes (lets say no more than 7 candles), this is also a "go"?
I am a bit confused because normally the trigger was always "when the line crosses the 0 level" not "the line already crossed the 0 level" on the Main confirmation indicator. Let's say, with the Baseline also as a trigger, we kind of kill the "one candle rule" applied to the Main confirmation indicator and we take a look on the "bridge too far" now.

The 20SMA middle band of the BOLLINGER could be the nearest baseline for Swing Traders.
The farthest baseline would be the GOLDEN CROSS ( 50EMA upward over 200EMA ) & the DEATH CROSS ( 50EMA downward below 200EMA ) for Position Traders

12:58 - Please can someone explain to me why this is not a bridge too far? Episode 34 if the Technical Analysis Playlist said that if price crosses the baseline and gives a signal but your two lines cross confirmation indicator gave the signal 7+ candles ago, you don't take the trade. By the looks of it, the confirmation indicator here crossed 8 candles ago.
In attempt to answer my own question, I am assuming that the bridge too far rule does not apply here because the baseline had actually been in agreement with the confirmation indicator short signal less than 7 candles ago before price briefly crossed above it and back below it again. In the examples of 'bridges too far' in Technical Analysis Ep 34, price had been on the same side of the baseline (in disagreement with the confirmation indicator) for the entire 7 candles when counting back and so the trade I mentioned above is not the same situation.
I'm posting this because I'm worried I've misunderstood.

So now I'm getting my 18 yr old brother in your way of trading. He hated to hear of forex because he use to do the 15min chart and lost his money but ever since I showed him your way. He's loving the backtesting part so much he decided to do it on his own with his computer (I kinda needed his help since I only have a phone to work with). We forgot our baseline yesterday smh. Newbie mistakes.

While candle closes on the baseline and all other indicators agree we take the trade(including 7+ advanced tactics). Next day or few days later the candle closes the otherwise we close the trade for small loss. If again the candle closes in our favor with all indicators aligned, should we still apply the 7+ Advanced Tactics on the Main Confirmation Indicator?

Is there any conceptual difference between a baseline indicator and a confirmation indicator? It seems to me that when one gives a signal, you see if the other one agrees, regardless of which one is which. I know that in later videos we learn extra baseline considerations (like pullbacks), but is the only difference the requirement that a baseline be a price (like a MA)?

VP, This Video came out way before your "Advanced Tactic" video re your rule called " Abridge too Far". Therefore where you say that you took a trade when the candle closed up above the baseline in your example and made a profit BUT according to the later video, you wouldn't have taken that trade either because the Aroon was saying go long for more than 7 candles!!!

I underestimated the power of baselines... VP is there any reason you liked the Kijoun-Sen? Is your secret baseline average shifted forward also? =)
It just worked really well for me compared to other baselines I was using at the time.
Hey VPs If I am correct you said multiple times that you would take a small loss of 35 pips or something like that but after that price would have retracted in your favour,
24:20 so basically you wouldn't even have taken those losses because your stop loss would have been above that(because your ATR will almost always be over 40 on 1d chart) and it wouldn't hit your stop loss, you would stay in the trade and make a profit in the end.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
there are other exit rules> (which ever comes first, you exit the trade) 1. if your C1 (first confirmation) gave you a different signal 2. Price closes on the opposite side of your Baseline 3. If your exit indicator gave a signal to exit. 4. Price actually hitting your stop loss. Stop loss is for *emergency* exit if ever price went crazy and move more than the ATR. So for your question rule no.2 answers that.
