I think you did awesome! Being at an art show probably helped because those patrons are already expecting to pay what something is worth. As opposed to a craft fair. Great tips too :)
$500 is great! Congrats! My average is $400, but booth space is much less $65 for a space. Now my Christmas in November it closer to around $600, and it is inside. One thing I do is cut a small snip in the clear bag and that helps with the sweating, but yeah alot of things I leave open. Plus the use of a portable/rechargeable fan also helps.
I would be thrilled to make $500! That’s great! You are right about having to show people your product. I tried to put some albums in an antique consignment shop and sold nothing. People had no idea what they were!! Congratulations!
Great haul Tiffany! I think $500 is amazing!!!!!! I am mad at my Tacoma daughter for not telling me about this.....I would have made her go for me😂😂 Please tell me you are still doing the sale in Lacey in October ????!!!!
@@mariebinkin4365 🤣🤣🤣. Well they have it every year so you can mark your calendar 🤪. Yes I’ll still be doing that sale unless they change the date on me 🤷🏻♀️
My average show is $400. I finally paper crafts. I am usually the only one there with my product. My most expensive item is $35 though. So that's good for me. I am doing a Christmas show this year where I will be bringing larger items so hopefully they will bring in more money.
You did well. I’m happy if I make 350. I’m always the only paper crafter at my craft fairs too. Our entry fees are nowhere close to yours. The most I have ever paid is 50 bucks.
Cathy and I were often times the only ones doing papercrafts at the shows we did. You know Tiffany, alot depends on the area of the country you are selling in. We would spend much less on our booth but would get a double space because there were 2 of us, so yes, you always want to recoup your booth cost..but also your time and cost of product right ? So did the $350.00 that you had after paying for your booth pay for your materials and the time it took you to make the products that you sold, your show prep time time and the time spent at the actual show itself ? $500.00 is great, especially for a papercrafter and I say that because not many people appreciate it like we do but in the long run, you probably worked for about 10 cents an hour which is exactly why Cathy and I stopped doing shows. I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer...there are many things about doing shows that are rewarding besides the sales. Meeting nice people, getting outside referrals (which is where the $$$ is at ) and doing something different and fun. You are young enough yet to enjoy it, so go for it !!! You do beautiful work. Look for venues that feature only handmade crafts, booths that are more affordable and possibly trying to incorporate your papercrafting into home decor pieces which we found to be what people gravitated towards. Good Luck !!
Great job for your first one. Excellent to be the only paper crafter too.
