I couldn't think of anything else for soap, except possibly using scented bars to make rooms fragrant

@@HowtoRPG we tend to focus on combat versus comfort and luxurious life since we rarely can experience smells or flavors or feels in game time

Soap + water + shape water + prestidigitation and you’ve got a non labor intensive laundry service, or bathing method. Shape water + a water skin of soapy water and you’ve got blind for a few copper pieces.

I got one for the science nerds out there (found it in a manga but I'm running with it), you can use soap to make water into difficult turrain. How? Well the soap, when added to water, will change the viscosity of the water. So animals and insects can not cross the water as normal for the surface tension has changed, even large creatures like lizard men will have a hard time swimming in soapy water.
It can also be used to poison animals in water like snakes, man eating fish, and the like. Then you can take a bath in the pool trap with new temporary "bath toys".
The only other thing I want to try with soap is blow bubbles to district monsters. Well everyone likes to pop bubbles, humans can get very distracted by bubbles, so why not monsters? I wonder if a Beholder would be distracted by bubbles as well as just soap in the eyes?
I'll go ask Xanathar, he should know, he knows Everything!

I would say that the player who is selling and making the figurines of soap get to choose the price, since they're selling it.

If you are in a low magic setting, then get a spell that makes the soap glow. What peasant would not wish to buy a soap figure that is magical for as low a price as 10 copper. Over a bit of time, your 100 gold worth of soap will turn into 1000 gold. Make sure to create some fake rumors that the soap has special properties that it do not have though. Peasants would not understand magic anyway, so they would quickly be fooled to think that the soap makes you more lucky, or gives you greener fingers. Hehe, or makes you better in bed. Forget 10 copper, if you can sell that rumor you may be able to take 50.

There a precedent in the handbook/guide that says professional artisans can generate 1gp per day from a trade skill they have the tools and proficency for. Over one trade skill you should use a modified die roll to determine how many craft skills you implemented for 1 gp each passively. For fast but more realistic active craft selling have the dm set a dc based on the local economy, poor village = high dc, booming town = low ac, roll a check on int/char +proficency plus any tool proficency mods to see if you can find customers. On success one figurine sells for a die roll closest to the tool proficency used to create it -1 (ie +4 proficency = 1d4-1 gp for the first sold, then add the gp amount to the "economy dc" if you want to try and sell another... Town economy dc of 12, sell one for 3gp, next attempt 15dc (12dc+3gp) and so on till fail the "sales check" roll. If you have any other trinkets/craft goods from another artisan skill try selling those starting at base "economy dc" until fail. It's a quick and dirty way to rp as a pro crafter while cruising the town looking for plot hooks, and accounts for different economic levels, and flooding the market with a particular item and the ups and downs of sales... Once you work out a certain method of handling it quickly with your dm in a way that isn't unbalancing or takes the whole session most dm's will let you get away with it xD same thing with selling trade goods like salt, flour, silk, raw ores... Keep a list of just your trade/barter goods, start at base dc and roll to see if you sell the first list item at FULL PRICE (trade goods always sell at cost unlike gear) if yes, remove item, +1 to dc, roll on next sale ;) I've literally financed a revolution from the back of a wagon. A chicken can lay 1d4-2 eggs per day, in a poor town with little food 2 chickens laying eggs can earn you more cash than craft skills ;)

On some people's answers as a few people just make silly comments. I then do some research and build in a few more options.
