Nice video, I would love to see one that compares the "sports" mode of continuous shooting (accessed from the top dial) to the mode of continuous shooting that's accessed from the Q button. The Q button one seems faster but it's a pain to reset every time I turn the camera on. With the Canon 720SX, this function remained unless you reset it but for some reason on the 740SX it doesn't stay on.

Yes if you are a vlogger that is more outdoors only because if the zoom, it's amazing! I'd go with the Sony or Canon gx7 for a better auto focus that blurs the backgrounds,Better color too than this sx740 hs.

Even in Auto mode many of my pics come out a little over exposed, which bothers me. I like the time lapse feature, but would be neat to see the results of how it looks when you are done. One more thing, the other Auto mode I find is neat, kinda like still shots while taking a movie, you didnt really touch upon.. thanks again

There's a product (cage handle) that has a built-in remote (removable as well), Company shows it will work with the G7 series (waiting for specifics if tried on the 740)... Other than the 740 is on BT2.0... the G7 on 3.0, it would seem the basic functions of Shoot, Video, Zoom should still be the same, can you comment please?
A constant frustration for me with this camera is that if there is the smallest amount of movement the moving object will be blurry, even when not using zoom. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Not every picture is a landscape!
Hi I have tried the Pen E-PL10 and the 14-150mm lens. While the quality of the photos was brilliant (for me), I realised i think i would rather a camera you dont have to change the lens. I found them awkward. But my main worry was that i would not have support from Olympus next year as they are selling on. So i now am looking for a camera again with the same specs, (good stabilisation as I have a bit of a tremor, close up, really good zoom with good quality when using zoom, good night shots, moveable touchscreen etc etc). I also found the things that the PEN did was good and fun too like ART, SCENE etc. I would spend say up to about £900. Do you have any suggestions please as I really would like to buy one quickly. I am a 70 year young lady and want to practise before we can return to travel again. Many thanks.
the green light shows that it is focusing, it comes up when you press the shutter button halfway. Also if you have it on self timer the green light will flicker faster indicating that your picture will soon be taken. i din't think you can get rid of it.

I have a question though: when taking pictures the date stamped is a 2020 date and that is the date used when transferred to a smartphone - how do I change this to the date the picture was taken? I have gone into Function Settings and it does reflect a current date. Any help would be great!

I have photos showing in playback that will not transfer to phone, computer or iPad, they do not show up in Camera Connect, but I can see and scroll thru them. Paid tech answers had no solution please help if you know how.
SaintOverKill it is because you have to upload it to your laptop using the SD card it can’t be through airdrop, or usb. This solved my problem hope it works for you!
Great video. Was just wondering how I would add an external microphone to this camera to record videos? Such as a Blue Yeti microphone. This camera does not have a spot to attach the audio cables that come with the Blue Yeti. It only has a USB and HDMI component. Would I just have to use OBS to record my audio portion using an external microphone then sync the audio and video files on my editing software?

The G9X mark I should be affordable second hand. Both the G7X and the G9X have larger sensors and therefore better for low light. The G7X is slightly better for low light, maybe get the mark II second hand. I suspect the SX740 might be ok as long as you focus on a highlight in a low light room.
i just wish you had close up camera on the top wheel so I can really see what it has on there instead of just telling me what all the things mean. I need reading glasses and I can’t see the wheel without them. Normally when I’m outside, taking pictures, I don’t wear my glasses and I can’t see what the wheel is on.

Hey im trying to upload videos from camera to my laptop wirelessly. I downloaded the canon software received a message that images are sending but nothing was actually sent over to my laptop.
I suggest finding a tech-savvy friend to help you in person - I just got the camera today, and the wireless setup has lots of instructions and is almost intuitive. You might be missing a small step. I'm very good with tech - but no way I can see what you are doing. Just find a friend or relative to help you - Good luck!!
I bought it myself but I can’t figure out why I can’t record videos with colour, it’s just black and white and why would I want that. Also, how do I turn the flash on while recording?
Like when I go to the video setting, it’s all black and white, but if I’m in AUTO mode it’s in colour, but there must be some setting to remove the black and white.
This camera is so good, I had to buy two of them. One for each hand.

Have one in my dronebag, working great and is a complement for my main camera, the Canon eos M6 mkII.👍

When I take a picture a green light starts to flicker. What does the green light mean n how can I get rid of it?
