@@ElijahBerg0011 yeah sounds like it just depends on the artist + team and whether they want to credit the artist who provided the royalty free work. It's unfortunate because Oliver's samples are all over that song and (from what I've heard) have minimal to no changes/:
Hopefully you have the liscense with you, if you stop subbing, you lose the ability to generate the liscense, and the worst, You can't use any of your credits you have left instantly
This guys a legend, been a fan for awhile now and he's truly one of the best producers for producers in years. Just wish he would release some of his amazing tracks from his massive collection he has built up on his Ableton. Even his Hard Drive Waste songs would make for an awesome album or even just a couple single releases. I'd be bold to say with his contributions to major records from big and growing artists like Dua Lipa and the Weekend that he has helped define and revive the modern disco/funk genre in pop music today.
I use his loops all the time!! Drums are Naughty!! Carlos Tatum.. "My Beard".. "Lookin' Fine Baby"... I want to say "Thank you! You are like a superstar to me.. Always my go to! Thank you so much for posting this video because I personally have an opportunity to say thank you so much! 🙏🏿🙏🏿
That dead look in his eyes tells me everything. This is why Ive never liked doing sample packs. Especially on a site like Splice. Your not getting jack shit out of the royalties. The amount of royalties one would get for something like this trumps any quarterly payment Splice worked out with the producer. And whos the one being seen besides some internet niche production channel or Splice interview? Julien Bunetta. I dont even see this guy in the official credits. Sad
Because Splice is royalty free. You create samples that can be used by artists, so you don't get credited for it for even creating it. It's free for anyone to use, even commercial use. So you can download samples and make and release original music, and you don't owe Splice any more than your subscription fee. However, you still need to disclose the use of third-party materials in your new content/creation. That's how Sabrina was able to use Oliver's sample for "Espresso."
I'm not familiar with music production but I'm guessing this is one of those services where you pay for access to a catalog of assets? If that's the case, they really should work out something like.. free for use if you make under a certain amount of money off of what you made using their tools so it's still free for small creators and people who are still learning but people are still compensated for their work if it's used in a major project. This guy's being nice about it but I can only imagine how much it would suck to see your work being used in such a massive hit and know how much money you could have made.
Some of the biggest hits of today are used by just sample loops. You'd be surprised it's not even that difficult anymore, but it's about how people put things together. That also makes things the bigger picture at the end of the Day
the vocal production is the best part of the song. There is so much counterpoint going on, not just adlibs, that you wonder how tf they fit all those vocal layers together cleanly. I imagine it took at least 2 weeks to mix, even if the singer laid down all the tracks in one session
Kinda makes me wanna get Splice, however music creation; the process of doing my own unique production is how I get gratification... Don't get me wrong, I can rock with loops, just not for subscription
If I was the producer of the song I would have reached out to Oliver and given him some publishing & credit. That’s the right thing to do and everyone who works on a song deserves recognition. It wouldn’t matter to me if it was a royalty free sample. Maybe that can still happen.
If you use loops without really altering them, you gotta give production credit. Like that’s so cheesy and lame to use the whole loop unaltered without credit. $5 says the drums are also a loop.
Oliver is the best, listen to his album. But music as a creative thing is dead. Drag and drop. Right now as we speak, people are making fake people adding hundreds of ai songs a day. Building up, suddenly all spotify will have is crappy ai generated songs, not just whining, im very active in the community, its a wrap
Oliver’s drums are goated, just so clean and versatile
Oliver deserves to at least be credited for the work he was sampled in
that's not how Splice works. It's royalty and credit free.
It's nice to know his contribution but they're not entitled for a credit
Tell me you don’t know how this works without telling me you don’t know this works
@@travelanGods Country by Travis Scott uses a splice sample, and the artist behind it is credited on that song.

i have hundreds and hundreds of his loops in my SPlice collection, lol. He's a great producer

😮😮😮Wait...
So we can buy these and just use them?!!

Let’s go splice!! Awesome job Oliver
I love his loops
Brother is a cause of heat songs🔥
Damn the Yuno Miles lore is crazy
that’s like my favorite part of the song too wow
I’ve used this sample before too 😂 Oliver you are the goat!!!!!
He should have a song writing credit
Nah, that's not how Splice works.

This guy had an incredible FIFA song a long time ago.
DEVIN!!!!
Sounds like Espresso sampled Ooh It's Kinda Crazy by soulDecision too.
Can you show us your others samples used in others songs?😊😊
It’s his own fault if he gets a raw deal. Choices
Hes holding back from saying hes so angry hes not getting royalties from these industry plants, absolutely criminals
i mean the whole point is splice is royalty free
I wish he got more credit 😞 I hope he’s properly compensated for writing so many hits rather than just being paid by splice to have his music on there
He’s been properly compensated
nice to see all this people so excited to sound like everybody else lol 😂
Who the hell is this master
The fact that the loop is the best art of the song 💀
else its okayish

Song of the summer? No. Thats not like us im sorry

So did he get paid ?
No, it's copyright free

Splice copyright striking other channels... 😕
Does he get paid for the use of his packs?

Such an overrated song.
Y’all say this over any hit song
