Raptors are designed for off road use. It becomes leveled when you add your rack, spare tires, heavy duty Jack, tools, etc. after adding a couple hundred pounds to the back, it becomes leveled-magic! If you add a leveling kit, it becomes dangerous when going at high speeds over whoops.
You made the classical mistake made by many....You tightened up (captured) the lower control arm bushings at full droop instead of normal ride height..I see guys doing this all the time when installing rear leafs also.. Nice video and agree with the "'use a quality spring compressor"....Thanks :)
And the 3rd reason is so when you tow or haul stuff in the bed, the weight makes it level out rather than squatting, which is bad for handling, braking and head light projection.
2018 Raptor. I installed my 1.5" perch kit and greased the top so the blue collar pops over it like in the video and silicone greased it then even did a bit of hard terrain off roading BUT THE BLUE COLLAR WILL NOT FULLY SIT ONTO THE PERCH KIT. About a quarter inch left for it to be compressed onto??.. both sides all the way around a about a quarter inch. Stopped by a suspension shop they think it’s a defective product because why else would both sides sit the exact same way after being fully mounted on the strut same as the video? Two guys, 3 hours of hard work wasted. Will be contacting website again for refund.
Is there an advantage to compressing the spring and adding the collar below the spring? Versus not having to compress the spring by adding a shim to the top of the strut?
Seems like the shock tower shim is much simpler to install. Too bad the new Raptor doesn't have the built-in 3 adjustment heights that the old one did.

What lift is on the raptor from the factory?
It comes from the factory with Fox Suspension, but it isnt really "lifted" from the factory.

How much does this effect ride quality? Coil spring spacers and mods like this have turned some previous vehicles from a good ride into a tractor.

Theyre both going to achieve the same result. The collar is the less expensive option.

Nope, you not have tightened something properly if you are experience rattling.
