Yes, that has been my experience as well. It's no doubt that Elite Dangerous is in a bad place because of the expansion. However, that doesn't mean it's dead.
Dying may be a strong word but Fdev is not doing it any favors to dispel the idea that it is from spreading. In just 2022 so far the developer has: ❌January Dev Update: Cancelled ❌Elite Dangerous Issue Reports: Cancelled ❌Console Development: Cancelled ❌Odyssey VR: Cancelled ❌Planet Tiling Fixes: Cancelled ❌Weekly Live Streams: Cancelled ❌Promise to Improve Communicatons: Cancelled Honestly, it's more just exhaustion. The continuous disillusionment that Fdev have time and time again displayed is tiring and it seems clear that they've shifted priorities and resources towards their other titles. Their approach to development is outdated, the don't treat it like the Live Service title it is, and they're not engaged with their community in the slightest. If the game isn't dying it's on life support or the very least in a hospice.
yeah on pc i joined a rather small team and it matter of week we got 100 fresh new players and they keep coming i joined 2 weeks ago when steam was having a sale on all Frontier games
Console player here: Haven't played Elite in quite a while. Hoped on recently to see what's new. Some old problems for console players still exist. The feeling of betrayal is very real. I've moved on to playing and streaming other games on PC. I may wait a few months before one last log in before my final decision to give Elite one last chance. I feel that I may be too generous in this...
Yeah, I feel ya on that. I've seen a considerable drop in traffic as well on my elite content. There is no denying that Elite is in a rut, I just don't think it's dying. It's too powerful for that.
Yeah, funny lines, but are they true? Imo no. Fdeaf didn't make a couple mistakes, they have been piling on the mistakes in quick succession. How often can David Braben drop _his baby_ on its head? ED might not be dead but it sits drooling in a wheelchair. Have you seen Frameshift life episodes? That's what I mean by drooling all over yourself in a wheelchair. It may not be dead yet, but please, somebody put it out of its misery.
Plot twist: elite dangerous isnt dying the DLC is! i have the dlc i barely use any of odysssey content im still doing passenger and bounty runs which i been doing for years! those that dont have the dlc are not missing much.
All weirdos say this usually to make content. Not saying you in general. But i heard fortnite was dying, warzone, and etc. Its overly used to be honest. I just started playing this game this year 2022. I dont got odyssey either. Id still like to try it someday! But i love the game myself. Make more content on the game tho. Ill watch it.
It’s definitely not dying. The community and squadron I’m in keeps growing and growing. Feel sorry for console players, admittedly,but PC is still going strong. But hyperbole is alive and well in certain quarters of the Elite community and you can always count on people to overact to a game.
Amazing how many former ED players are starting Star Citizen channels and then see thier view counts and subscribers explode upwards. You just dont see SC players on TH-cam these days say _"Screw it! Im bailing out to play ED."_
Because sc is a circle jerk community and cult where when you upload something positive and new player experience with wows and ahs they will flood you with views.or the hired bits to make it seem better than it is And tbh those who leave for sc are idiots XD Lemme leave a game that had one bad dlc in the beginning for a game that never delivered anything,always disappoints the community and needed over 10 years for refueling….and 500 mills,oh and when it’s comes out fully you only get to keep ships that where paid with real money,so nothing you do means anything,brilliant.and it already released how they wanted contractually so if they ever just wrap it up you will get nothing back,because they don’t own you anything they already delivered legally

As a ex console player I hope it dies. I'm sorry to PC gamers but I feel like I was lied to and strung along so that I would continue to spend money
