The hard truth that every law student needs to hear as early as possible. Law is not a get-rich-quick profession. Her advice is on point and touches on so many areas that are not openly talked about often enough!

This is the real talk, all the aspiring law students should watch and prepare themselves mentally before stepping into the world of litigation in India. Having had similar experiences as the speaker in my four years of litigation experience,I believe most of us will relate and she has been absolutely candid on the realities and workings of our litigation system. Thank you for putting this up as this talk confirms that many of us are not alone, there are plenty of us who have had a similar experience and we march on…….

Madam, before I express any reaction on your lecture delivered law student and future generation of Advocates,I wish to congratulate you for clarity of your thoughts,,and is crystal clear with the prevailing atmosphere in legal fraternity. There were many stalwarts in the profession who raised the standard of bar to great eminence without being a prodgney of any lawyer or Judges. But of late to be a eminent lawyer either one must be son or daughter of lawyer or related to bench or got political pattrenge..It will be indecent to name but all what wrote is from my personal knowledge .

I am in the final semester of llb degree course and was juggling to pick between llm entrance or litigation afterwards.
I guess the answer is clearer to me now.
I found the whole speech very interesting but it's certainly correct to ask more and more women to join litigation in order to change the outlook.

This petition could simply be resolved in a matter of days. It is not a piece of cake for me either. It became so damn difficult that now, I am considering going back to my engineering.

I would like to make it clear that at 46:50 this happens to everyone if you are junior(if you look young) gender has nothing to do with it., me being a male lawyer who looks a bit younger than his age is facing it everytime and another thing that harasses is nobody take you serious for first few months starting from judges in district court wont even pay attention to you if your opponent has gray hair, other lawyers, court staff wont listen to you client's take you for granted... Unless you gain that lawyer confidence in your voice... Me having a practice of merely 7 months now am doing good and have won 90% of the arguments

I am 37, worked in the social sector for 12 years and now starting my second career at 37 in law and in litigation. This is not my comfort zone as as person and the procedure and the intimidation that comes with it is mind blogging. It's like in the court room there is more procedure than law ! And that's all that comes thrown around in the face of ant junior starting new. Even the guy doing photocopies will tell me he know exactly what to make copies of in the file , and he knows it better than me. I also agree on your point of how little the seniors are willing to do for the juniors. There is a tendency to extract maximum labour in the name of teaching but there is no mentorship, real responsibility.
A reason could be the insane competitiveness between lawyers and very little comraderie. When you are seeking need money to sustain yourself Everyone is a damn client who can pay so ethics go out of the window.
