    I lost a baby at 22 weeks after his umbilical cord got around his neck and asphyxiated him. The procedure done for me to give birth was considered an abortion. I was completely devastated at loosing my baby no differently than if I had lost him after carrying him to term. Women were not meant to have to continue to carry a deceased fetus! And what would be the point? Not only is there potential for serious medical conditions to develop but I can't even imagine the emotional trauma of having to continue to carry your dead baby inside you. And who's going to care and pay for babies born with defects so severe they require around the clock care and have no quality of life? Parents would be stuck having to watch their child suffer. This is cruel and unusual treatment!

    • @tophat5870
      @tophat5870 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +32

      This is similar to the conversation that brought up the lie about after birth abortions. A governor in one of our states said that they would not pass a law to force parents of babies that were born terminally impacted, and only expected to live minutes or a few hours at most, to have invasive medical procedures to try to save them. He said there would be no point in a child living for 15 minutes or 2 hours in agony from all the medical treatments. He said it was cruel and would cause unnecessary suffering for the child and the parents. So now we have people going around saying that in some states they're doing after birth abortions.

    The crazy thing is that many times, it's not even to end a pregnancy but simply to treat a miscarriage (not that I have anything about ended an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. Your body, your choice). Both my mom and sister would have been in a world of trouble if this ban passed. My mom's second pregnancy ended at around 18 weeks (over 20years ago) and she needed a D&C to evacuate the fetus. She would have been left to basically wait until she was infertile. My sister had an incomplete miscarriage and needed medication to evacuate the fetus and the placenta. Same thing would have happened.

      About 10% to 20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage or spontaneous abortion but the actual number is likely much higher. This is because many miscarriages happen early on, before people realize they're pregnant. Most miscarriages - 8 out of 10 (80 percent) - happen in the first trimester before the 12th week of pregnancy. This is an entirely natural process reflecting the Darwinian Law of natural selection.

    It's so important to stress that late term abortions happen for medical reasons, to people who originally wanted to carry the pregnancy to term. Cases like the child dying in utero or having severe birth defects that would mean death shortly after birth. These mothers now have to deal, on top of the trauma of losing their child, with the added baggage of having to carry that lost child to term due to termination being illegal, even though continuing the pregnancy would benefit absolutely no one. In cases of severe birth defects some people choose to carry to term, but some prefer not to. Removing that choice is inhumane.

      Here is an even further projection into a possible Truth: I see the extreme far right as Legalizing - yep - legalizing slavery, in the forms of - marriage of girls to the low age of even 12 - of course, he's a Republican - Republican Mike Moon of Missouri said 12 year old girls should be able to marry - yep he said that - a Rethug; Sarah Cunningham, Republican also of Missouri, in 2010 called for "loosening" the child labor laws - yep; extreme Republicans overturned Roe - only have to look to Romania under Nicolae Ceausescu, the dictator who outlawed abortion and contraception - difference is these far right thugs we have here, want to increase, not only subjugation of women socially, but to create an Economic Whole Underclass of the poor women, families and children. Think "child slave labor" as in "third world" countries: They want that here; Extreme Wealth vs. Extreme Underclass in Poverty - that most won't be able to crawl out of.

It should never have gone back to the states because, as a Federal law, it’s supposed to be for the good of everyone in the country (and women do comprise 51% of the population), not just a particular state, which is why slavery was banned nationally, not given to the individual states. Can you imagine this country allowing slavery in some states and not in others? Of course, we know that some of our states would still love that, but as a national ban, it doesn’t work that way. Do they promise not to use them for gratification , experimental purposes or harvesting? Will they give them positive human contact without harming them in any way? No, they will not and most of them are too old to do care for them, do not have the funding for thousands of new children as we restabilize the country after an influx of migration over the last 30 years and it's just now an issue.
