Slow pieces/ballads always expose how attentive bands are to fundamentals(pitch,blend,balance,tone,phrasing). This gave me shades of that old FAMU that could never be outdone on those principles. I hope this is a glimpse of what's to come this season. I can't wait for the slugfest that is sure to take place in Tallahassee when the human jukebox comes to town.

Our Band Director was Dr. Williams who attended FAMU God rest his soul. Jesus you are the Center of my Soul is one of my favorite gospel song. Xavier University of LA Gospel Choir sung this at my daughter's graduation.
FAMU and all HBCU bands are a National Treasure to me, thank you to the Band Directors and Staff, the Universities , such a beautiful ,Powerful arrangement .

WHEN I HEARD THE "MARCHING 100" SING A HYMN IN 1987, WHICH WAS F. A. M.U'S 100TH CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION, I WAS DONE! I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO INTO THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, BUT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WOULD HAVE TO WAIT!!!

I'm originally from Miami and was in band in high school in the mid 90's and remember watching Carol City, Miami Central, Miami Norland, North Western and Miami Jackson marching bands and it reminds of FAMU. I always said that there were no other high school marching bands in the state of Florida like Miami ! My opinion. 👍👍

I wake up with this song every day shout out to Professor Lindsey Sarjeant.Thank you for the years where you have produced the best music.
As a mother if a former Rattler, I am so glad that this band is learning some chiristan music. Everytime I hear this band play one the songs that have brought some of us parents thru those days when you just question was it worth it?
