      Hi, great vid, thank you very much. Just one question. How do I secure the yarn to stay firmly in? I mean, if I leave it as it is and accidentally pull the yarn, it will all come out. Or not? I am new to this and my logical thinking is confused. Thank you.

      I bought a punch needle kit online from a craft store around a month ago but it was horrible the needle would not even go through the fabric it was complete garbage and I wish I hadn't wasted my money on it. There should be a certain standard you'd expect when you buy a craft kit of any kind that it should at least be doable. I think if punch needle kits available were of higher quality people wouldn't have so much trouble as beginners.

      I wouldn't recommend it. It seems to be a purely decorative thing that can't be touched or worn. One pull and all the work is gone. Maybe a picture on the wall but that's about where it ends. T-shirts and pillow cases??? Are you nuts?🤪 How the hell will you wash them without the whole thing falling appart???🤔

    I had surgery on my wrist at the beginning of this year. I’ve been dying to get back into embroidery now that I’m healed enough to work on projects like this. But the thought of pulling the needle through the fabric straining my hand deterred me from getting back into it. So glad that this product exists and you explained it so well. Thank you!!

    I just got a beginner’s kit from a crafter off of Etsy. Been years since I did needlepoint or cross-stitch, and wondered why my stitches were so hard to do and more difficult to place than expected. Finally realized the fabric is canvas instead of monk’s cloth. DOH! I know lovely work can be done on just about any cloth, but I’d strongly recommend that beginners find a kit with monk’s cloth, or even Aida. Those lovely holes will make all the difference.

    I wish I knew before starting this tutorial that this is Backwards Punch Needle and not Traditional Punch Needle. My plant turned out great, but it only looks good on the 'back-side' not the looped 'front side.' I thought all punch needle projects were made with the side you're working on being the back. This left me a bit confused and disappointed since I was planning on making this a plant coaster.

      . There is a loop side and a stitch side, you choose which is the front. Also, it’s obvious by looking at the finished project that she’s using the stitch side and not the loop side as the front.

    • @marybyrnes6078
      @marybyrnes6078 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The loop side is traditional Russian punch needlework. When the flat side is used as the front, it’s actually called Bunka needlework. You can use either side you wish for the front.

    i keep seeing punch needle things like cushions and rugs and whatnot and I love it I think it looks amazing. HOWEVER...one thing that unnerves me about it is that it seems to literally just be loops through - if i get a heel, nail or a button caught in a loop isn't the entire thing just going to unravel? I don't see how the stitches are secure or how this is actually robust enough for a practical object rather than something in a frame on a wall where people can't mess with it by accident? I'd love to give it a go though. I had one of these when I was a kid and i threw it out because of that reason but it also didn't come with any instructions so i dunno if I was doing it wrong or something.

      I bought a store bought kit today and it was poor quality not enough yarn and struggled to get the canvas tight. Followed your tuition and that really helped. Will definitely purchase from you know I know what to do.
      👍😁

      @@susanmonks184 how are you doing? I was thinking of picking this up as a hobby, but I would like to be able to make things like pillowcases. This looks like it isn't secured. Like the stickers would dissolves the moment I would actually use it as a pillow... Is it so?

    Hmm I thought it was worked from the back making the loops the actual front of the piece. This is pretty

    • @RaisingNobles
      @RaisingNobles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is one way to do it! Just depends on the style you want. For this one I wanted smaller loops
