So, what is the demand for straight truck drivers that operator solo, currently? I'm thinking about giving expedited a shot but I live in California. I've got about a year experience as a local driver with straight trucks, 18 wheelers, and sprinter vans combined. I've got no financial overhead at all right now, too. Something about that M2 just seems really appealing to me and I've got the most experience driving freightliner straights.
@@ExpediteTravels I'm sure you have your struggles, but you are making work as a solo in a straight, right? If it was all that bad, I'm sure you wouldn't be doing it. The money is secondary and I'm looking for something to give me more freetime while on the road, compared to 18 wheeler where you just burn your 70 every single week. As a 27 year old guy, with no payments at all towards anything and debt free... would it work for me in a straight truck? I mean, would it allow me to take longer rest breaks without taking a load back to back, while still having money to shower and eat and maybe relax for a bit. Without a TWIC, Haz, Tanker, and passport. Do you think it would work just starting out?
@@Flunkerdunk yes but keep in mind I stay with in a 300 mile radius of the Windsor Ontario/ Detroit Michigan area and I'm limited due to the hours of service 11 hrs driving and 14 hrs on duty so if you get held up at customs or a pickup or delivery as a solo it can wreck your day .
I love the International's comfort, but absolutely hate the 'Maxxforce' engine. Drove 2 of em to have each engine damn near blow out after 100k miles. Freightliner seems to be a cheaper alternative, but those engines are work horses.
Yes I like the international for what you're saying the maxxforce engines were very problematic if you don't get them bullet-proofed which means tampering with the emission system which really isn't worth it when you get caught now the new engines that International or having Cummins ISB or even their n13 or a 26motors I've heard or a lot better thanks for watching
This wasn’t my truck it was a company truck I was driving when I was a company employee but you can pick them up from freight liner or maybe a used truck place will have something similar like this
It all depends on what company you go with and how much freight they have if you’re averaging let’s say $1000 a week you’ll bring home 4000 a month just as an example
How many pounds of loads does this truck haul? Do you need class B license? Do you need to do log book ? Do you have to go inside of the weight station ? Hope you will answer. Thank you
Anything over 10000 pounds or 4500 kg you need to log and scale this truck you need a class B license with an air brake endorsement have to enter the scales and you can haul up to 12000 pounds
@@ExpediteTravels there is no such thing as an air brake endorsement, there is an endorsement for no airbrakes. Any vehicle with a GVWR of 26,000 pounds or less does not need CDL trust me unless I drive these for a living and I do not have a CDL. You do however need to scale your loads in those states and you do need to keep a log book (Unless you stay within 100 miles of your starting destinations and return to where you started at the end of every day, I know this law stupid like everything else the government implements but that’s how it is
Hello. I’m looking for a similar truck in the video that will be reliable. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Having a hard time finding one now.
Snatch out that passenger seat & room for a small fridge or a trucker potty. Once you take out that passenger seat, it really opens up the cab. Stay away from that raggedy'azz MaxxForce engine! Get the Cummins & Allison transmission! Do not get that MaxxForce engine! Unless you get all the emissions stuff deleted off of it & then you'll stand a chance! But hell no to a MaxxForce engine 😡 I know this video is old but hopefully somebody will take heed👍🏿
@@ExpediteTravels A used Freightliner M2 chassis with under 150,000 miles. Or a new one just wondering what the cost of a truck like this is because I’m interested in moving up
Can any of you two help me get the vin number to this sleeper so I can order the curtains and the curtain railings for mine ? Ours are discontinued since we have an older model and they won’t sell me parts to a newer model unless i have a vin so they can look up the new part numbers
Indiana if its plated for 26,000 you can drive it with a class c non cdl license with air ride
Alguien me puede desir el nombre completo de ese troque por favor
Just having fun. Nice truck by the way
Thanks 👍
looks like a good ol' truck, it'll do the job...good luck out there buddy

As a solo you might struggle . if you want to make more money and go on longer trips you're going to have to team with someone

hey man was wondering where you purchased this truck

If you bought this for personal use what license would I need?
If it's over 26000 lb you would need a Class B license in the US or a DZ in Canada with an air brake endorsement
Do you still have this truck? If so, any problems?

Mr Duncan, D for Dinosaur. That is priceless.
