I remember seeing Joel play this a little while ago. The final boss always stuck with me from how hilariously dumb and cheap it looked. It looks like they just took some 80s guy and put a thrift store smelling cape on him and thought that was cool and good enough lol.

Damn, this game needs a motion sickness warning. The real survival art is not getting nauseous at the screen shaking.
The screen shake for every hit is a bit much, especially since the camera already moves up and down with the characters jumping.
Devs were really desperate for that MK hype back in the day

So this game was made by the company that was founded by former UPL staff and would go on to make Mindjack. That explains a few things.

I remember playing this with my friends whereupon they nicknamed the one character "Magic Purple Pants Ninja". Nobody else got a nickname but him.

God bless the ring! The weird RPG dungeon crawl portion of that game is truly something. Never have I seen a character Stat screen that includes a graphic for the character's diet nor have I ever before seen it negatively impact the character if it is not balanced.

I only saw this in the wild once back in the day. Even back then, it seemed like it was trying to hard. And thanks to the grainy images, I thought Mongo was in his 70s.
Survival Arts was made by a Japanese company called Scarab. Most of it's games are garbage. The good games I remember from the company are only two: Macross: Do You Remember Love? for the Saturn and PS1 and a Dreamcast port of Fighting Vipers 2.

Well, you appear to be in a underwater elevator (as evident by the background) yet there also appears to be some sort of outdoor area when you look at the door in the corner. Given this impractical setting that is disobeying the laws of science mixed with the game that you are playing, I've come to unprofessional and uneducated conclusion that you are in Hell. Or some sort of purgatory. Either or, not a place you want to be in.
I think Capcpom copied them to make the Omega Red stage in X-Men:COTA

The stages in this game SUCK. There are distracting foreground objects all over the place.
