    Well done lads. Looking forward to the further TH-cam videos!

      You to! So impressed with your van and thanks for the ideas for some of the more tricky bits like the over cab shelf! Hopefully see you on the road sometime 😊

    a bit sad we couldn't make this event. We were hiring a van in the Yokrshire moors to test a layout/builder. Will be talking to Olie and Emily soon about their vans. loving your style of videos, working through a few of them today whilst ill.

    Like the pull out bed guys , I've got my seat in the same location but with my kitchen behind the bulkhead , works OK for a L2 citroen relay

      @OurVanPlan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah we’ve seen a few with the kitchen there and it’s probably the most practical layout for the L2.

    Nice work so far guys and brilliant you got away in the van even though it’s not finished. We have been following your project from the start. Would you mind if we asked about your electrical system as we have hit a bit of a brick wall with ours at the moment. ( We a bit like you have been away in our van this summer with just the bed/windows and floor sort of complete). Just that was awesome. 1- did you get someone to do your wiring? (If so any recommendations) 2- will you be sharing the details on your set up? Eg solar? How many battery’s and what AmpH etc. The ceiling is amazing by the way.

      Ah thanks, glad to have you along. I will do a video on electrics but not doing the actual install but more of an overview. It’s quite complicated but not ridiculously so. We have 2 x 100Ah Lithium batteries which is MORE than enough. No solar as we figured we’ll be driving a lot and we’ll have a battery to battery charger. We also have an 240V charger and an inverter but yet to wire in all of those. Wiring I did myself but I kept it a very basic system. Used Wago clips for connections which is super easy and secure.

      @@OurVanPlan Nice one. Thanks. Initially we were going down the solar route but like you guys we are thinking of just investing in 2 batteries. Where did you buy your batteries from and other electric kit from. We are looking for somewhere with good customer support etc. Sorry for all of the questions…

      No problem, glad to help. I’d recommend 12voltplanet.co.uk for most bits. For the batteries, we got the Renogy ones direct from Renogy UK. They’ve been ok to deal with via email.

    I’m interested - did your two day stay change any of your plans dramatically? Or just the fiddly details?

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it mainly gave us reassurance the batteries would last several days off grid and that (when finished!) the van layout is ideal for our needs. So really positive! We did get loads of ideas for finishing touches and practical tips from the other vans there.

    Will you be going full-time van life when you finish your build?

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We’d love to but no concrete plans just yet. So it’ll be mainly weekend trips and longer holidays. We can both work remotely so hoping to be able to use it more during the working week too.

    Thank you for posting this vids :) Do you think that a line of spotlights like you've got in your ceiling is enough or would you add an extra row? Also, what's that light you've got in the corner above the passenger window?

    • @OurVanPlan
      @OurVanPlan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the 3 LED spots are more than enough for our L2. Maybe 4 in an L3. Definitely don’t need 2 rows. The lights we put in the cab were just from eBay.
