      Kansas City, Missouri , Womega, Kansas & Beech Mountain North Carolina have a Wizard of Oz experience. Keep the faith about the situation in Panama. They should go in the direction of a wildlife preserve especially if they have endangered species in the designated areas that the company from Canada wants to drill. It is a long process. Wishing you safe travels.

    Earlier this year, we rented a mini van for a month and drove across the US, hitting states that we thought we could retire in. Slept in the mini van, mostly at truck stops, and a few campgrounds. It was an amazing adventure, and yes, we did find our home and land. The big challenge was getting rid of nearly everything we owned and renting a Uhaul, driving to the property. Not as easy as it used to be! Your channel and story have inspired us-I cannot tell you how many times I have said, I just wish I had the guts to view life the way you two do. From your van adventures, to finding your land in Panama, it has been a real joy to see it unfold, challenges and all. Best of luck to each of you as you go forth and create change in the world. And someday, I want to try some of your amazing coffees!

    Seeing little Sadie flashes me right back to my daughter at that age. I even cringe seeing her run down those rocky roads hoping she doesn't fall. Years from now when you hear some little girl's voice it will instantly take you back too - trust me. Mine is 35 now but there's still all of those memories. Enjoy! These years pass faster than you think. Rodrigo had some clips of going to town OK and finding some essentials but looks pretty bad. Let's hope they can get the mining issue resolved. All of central and south America is being literally raped for natural resources and the prime motivator is china. I stand with every country trying to preserve their independence, resources and cultures! Stay safe!

    • @paige6028
      @paige6028 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree! I have identical twin daughters that are 30 & the years flew by! 😢 Every time I see/hear a little girl talk it takes me back. I was shopping last night & heard a little girl that was about 2 or 3 talking to her Dad & she had the sweetest voice just like Sadie & it melted my heart! Do you have any grandchildren yet?

    • @elgringoec
      @elgringoec ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have a daughter now 35 and yes we think back to when she was little and her shenanigans. Now she has her own daughter, a year old next month, and does the time fly! But we have eight grandchildren, all seven before her are boys. And growing up to be real boys, no pansies.
      So, recently in Panama this old guy had enough of being bullied by protestors, reached his breaking point, and took out a couple of these beligerante sadists.
      If that starts becoming a trend then these people who otherwise play a pretty insignificant role in society extorting power over the populace for an egotistical boost may opt to seek alternate methods to self-engrandize.

    Every time I see that steam engine I remember when it was 90° different with his nose aimed into the hill, I sat in that drain when I was eight years old when they were penny arcade games, and player violins that ran for a penny inside one of the buildings, a lot has changed but at least I got pictures of me sitting in the train and its new location, I still find it fascinating that they moved it, can you imagine? It’s so heavy. The other thing that I remember is that in the saloon they used to make their own root beer there and it was the best ever they served it in a frosted mug that had about an eighth of an inch of ice on the outside I had two mugs full, it was the best sarsaparilla I’ve ever had, and I fear that I will never taste it again. My grandfather and I sat at the bar enjoying it, and there was a young lady that served us back then, I also bought a bag of hand twisted peppermint sticks, the flavor was unbelievably good, and they had a slightly yellowish tint to them not bleach white, everything there was a little bit more real than it was the second time I went there, hoping that I would find that sarsaparilla, but all they had to sell to me was a bottle of Wyatt Erp’s sarsaparilla, and to my disappointment it couldn’t even hold to the stuff that was homemade sitting on the countertop of the bar inside of a wooden cask…. At least I have the memories, and I will say that the town looks nothing like it did then, I don’t think I could find boot Hill, or stand next to dock Holiday in the OK corral, I didn’t see any of the handmade corny cement statues, And the disappointment of not having the original cushions to sit on inside the steam engine, or th all the pipe Work that was inside the cab that was a radiator to keep the firemen and the engineer warm in the winter… oh well, nothing stays forever I guess to tell you the truth I was a little lost even getting to where the steam engine was, there was nothing that looked the same.

    I was driving across Missouri quite a few years ago, deliberately taking the back roads through small towns. I entered one small town without noticing the city limit sign. The town was very small, so maybe it wasn't even incorporated and didn't have one. The first establishment I saw had a sign on a pole in front of a building. The sign said Tightwad Bank. I had to stop at Tightwad Convenience Store long enough to get my laughter under control.

    I don't know if anyone else caught your reference to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album with The Wizard of Oz. When you play the album while playing the movie with no sound, you find things match up perfectly -- the action and feeling of the movie with the action and feeling of the music. Not sure who figured that out (probably someone who was stoned), but now watching The Wizard of Oz while playing Darkside of the Moon has become a "thing". I saw it in Milwaukee that way 6 or 7 years ago and it was pretty cool.

    Just FYI there is the whole yellow brick road and house in Beech NC. They put on a show everyday they have flying monkies” people dressed up” the land of OZ and everything. That is one place I can’t wait to go! But Jordan, if I were you these videos would be kinda like a live video so you don’t have to work so hard. We know you can do amazing videos already, just turn the camera off and on and post that. You are working so hard your not even enjoying your massive trip. Now I know I recommended Cathedral Caverns in Noeth east Al because we think it’s amazing, but I don’t want you let down so google first. Be safe, feel better soon Kaylie. Safe travels!

    Just remember that when you go into Illinois and you see the sign that says Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home… it is not Abe’s home it is hisFathers childhood home. My sweet adorable husband who is only spontaneous when he plans things… was truly spontaneous as he saw the sign and we when of course, thru corn maze territory and came to this quaint home where people are in costume. That’s when we found out it was Lincoln’s fathers home! We still laugh about it and our girls are 45 n 42 yrs old.😂😅😊

    Got a giggle from this video!
    Oklahoma got a little bit of a raw deal, being that you weren't really in the state much. It was a drive-by visit, which was often my experience of Oklahoma, too.
    I can attest going to The Cowboy Museum and seeking out the Masterworks art there is worth the while!
    I admit, Kansas has also been one of our drive-by experiences, throughout the years of traveling. I can say that we never explored a single city or town in Kansas...just miles and miles of flat farmland. ...and, that's saying something because I'm from Ohio. Although, we were so impressed that they also farm the land in between the meridians.
    Would love to see comments by folks from Idaho, Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Ohio. What's there? ...besides farm lands? ...and, how is the farming going? I'm so proud of our younger generations! They are fighting back the big conglomerates the best they can; working hard to restart abandoned small homestead spaces. ...not easy.

The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is home to major music festivals year round, and regarded by some as one of the top ten music venues in the world to see before you die. We have two real treehouses, and depending on timing, you folks could stay in one overnight. We are about 45 minutes to the border with Alabama, 20 minutes from Georgia, and about 2 hours from South Carolina. Unfortunately, others feel the need to judge her for nursing a toddler. Sad since that is a bond like no other, the healthiest & most selfless thing a mom can do for their child & it's THEIR choice & their business! No one else's. It does seem like it was just yesterday...for us! I bet for them it may feel longer. They're amazing though & Sadie has been a SUPERSTAR through it all. I don't think I could've traveled across the country with my identical twin daughters when they were 2! In fact, I know I couldn't have. 😂

      I love riding the train up to OKC and spend a few days, drive around , visit museums etc. rent a car and make some wonderful day trips. Oklahoma has some hidden gems in it. They just don’t have the time to really spend a lot of time in each state.

      Michelle, I personally wouldn’t really call it big. As I live right near it, however, it does have some really nice places to visit. As well as some beautiful terrain. There are a lot of great places to dine as well. You have to be in the right spots. Several off the beaten path. I have been all over Oklahoma and enjoyed every trip. Muskogee for example is not a place where most people would think to visit. I have met my sister there on numerous occasions and we have found some sweet spots there. A beautiful park with a butterfly enclosure, as well as a house turned into a really wonderful restaurant with incredible food ( the chef was amazing ) and nice wine list ( if you like wine, that is). It has been a while since we have been, but, there were some really cute shops with baked goods. Also there is also a piano on the street that my sister and I play when we go. We like to play duets. My family loves history and anything to do historic installations. It’s not NYC, but they do have plenty to do to fill up a weekend. And the people I have encountered are genuine and kind and happy to suggest other places and things to do. They also have a theater group that we had the pleasure to meet at a play. And they were hilarious on and off stage. 😊

You should have definitely checked out Earthship Biotecture in Taos NM! soooo close. They're the mac-daddy of off-grid living. Also Marfa TX is worth the trip. Wishing you continued success for your family and your journey! Honey Harvest is da bomb.

    i guess the main question for you, as business owners, is how long can you keep the farm running without being able to generate income from The Morning Movement? how long will it take you to re-generate your business flow once Panama is operating again with at least enough infrastructure (available propane, gasoline, flights, etc) for you to get back into production? can you ramp up income
    from other sources (like TH-cam, Sponsorships, Patreon, etc) to span that gap? can you find a way to get the supplies you need for the farm (such as hay, or perhaps a substitute for hay) without traveling too far from the farm?
    perhaps if you crunch these numbers and find that you can manage for a decent period of time, perhaps you will just have to suspend coffee production, but that you can do it without as much stress because you know you can ride out the crisis, and that you will be ok in the end. i hope that is the case.
    best of luck to you. 💛

    Google Answer just for you:
    "The saying "Get out of Dodge" comes from the TV Western Gunsmoke. In the show, fictional lawman Marshal Matt Dillon would tell criminals to get out of Dodge (City, Kansas). The show ran from the 1950s to the mid-1970s.
    The term "Get out of Dodge" is an allusion to Dodge City, Kansas, a busy cattle town in the late 19th century. Dodge City was a rough-and-tough town in the Old West, known for its saloons, outlaws, and Boot Hill Cemetery. Lawmen would shoot it out with bandits.
    The term was used long before Gunsmoke became a series, but the show popularized it.". You were pretty spot on......

    Hope you make it a little farther East in Kansas, Lawrence is a great college town with lots of history and a fun downtown with lots of walkable coffee shops and a nearby town park. Kansas City Metro is fun too. Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO ...two cities, two states. You could get your fill and do a BBQ day...Jack Stack at the Freight House (coolest building) Joes Kansas City, (in a old gas station) and Q39. If you travel through St. Louis be sure and make time for the City Museum, Sadie will love it.

Okla has so much more if you wouldve gotten into it a bit. Ive been waiting for you to get close to where I am and keeping family posted on your whereabouts! Im in the SW corner of Missouri with Ark very close. Hope you get my way! Good luck on your travels through the midwest. Its actually one of the best keep secrets in the world!
