I do have one question though, for some reason, my sections have a lot of space in them. I change the margins and use the spacer tool, but they still have a ton of space. The page looks fine, but now the last section for the top menu I have to drag from the bottom is gigantic. If you could let me know what settings to change that will be awesome!
I purchased an Elementor compatible theme thinking it would be easier to get my business site up & running but it was a mess. Way too many plug-ins and a few frustrating bugs. i just have to say, wow and thank you. So easy to follow along. i've watched a million beginnings of videos, but none were what I wanted or needed. I used to work in finance and be computer savvy until I found a lump in my chest and underwent surgery and treatment. Years later, I'm playing catch up on all the advancements out there. There's a lot to learn and it can be very overwhelming. I never felt overwhelmed. Not even once. I'm 33 min into watching this and will keep replicating on my own site. I just had to come on here and say thank you. Thank you for helping me get back into the groove of things. It's an exciting feeling. This is a MIND-BLOWING tutorial for me, I've been saving this tutorial in my bookmark for so long and I have never watched it because I got busy watching other tutorials to create ecommerce site using Elementor. I know there's still lots more to learn but this tutorial absolutely covers almost EVERYTHING you might need to know about how to use Elementor...period. Really great tutorial but you have 3 key issues. (This is just feedback, I truly respect your content!) 1) > No active link indicator to show which page/section the user is currently on. Would be great to demonstrate this. 2) > It's poorly optimised for SEO. (The h1 tag is "What is WHH?" - Not Ideal) > When you demonstrated how to change the default typography for the heading tags you didn't take into consideration the SEO factors. - Heading Tags Primary Function: To communicate with search engines on the content structure for each page on a website. - Heading Tags Secondary Function: Change typography & sizing etc. Conclusion: Preformat heading tags with the primary function always taking priority. Override design factors if the primary function doesn't conform to the secondary function i.e. Resize and change typography manually. > Also, 1-page websites are terrible for SEO. 3) > The website takes far too long to load. When re-visiting the website (cached) it obviously loads much quicker but this isn't taking first-time users into consideration which is arguably more important. - Current page size: 7.26MB - Ideally this should be below 1MB. - You have 14 images that need reducing in file size - You have 1 image that needs a massive reduction in scale (Full image size still loading in the background even though user sees scaled down version) - The video used on the header looks seriously amazing, but unfortunately, this video is far too long. Ideally, you shouldn't have a video at all but if you must have one then it should only be 1 - 3 seconds long and on loop. Or alternatively, don't allow it to play automatically, give the user the choice to play it and only allow the video to download once play has been pressed - therefore lowering the page load size and time. Similar to how youtube videos load within a website. Other than these few issues I think your guides have a great explanation of all the key elements and functionality. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos :)
Hey Scott ... Thank you for your feedback 1 - I talked about the ability for users to indicate active page links when I was building the navigational menu. This is entirely optional and not a requirement 2 - You are 100% correct in all what you mentioned here but I doubt the overwhelming majority of students watching this tutorial will care about whether or not the site is SEO optimized. This tutorial is Elementor based and is meant to show how Elementor is used. If this was a tutorial on SEO then the issues you raised will be very valid indeed. 3 - Again you are absolutely correct but again this is a sample website built to demonstrate how Elementor is used. If this was a real website I was building for a myself or a client then the issues you raised will be very important. Also I am pretty sure the students watching this tutorial have their own videos and images they will be using on their websites. I find it curious that while you criticized me for not optimizing the website, you failed to mention that I did nothing to also secure it against hackers. Thank you once again for your feedback.
@@TheWebMonkey Spot on rebuttal! Although "One Page" Sites are not SEO friendly, for most clients, they are becoming the norm. As the "microwave" generation who have all this massive amount of information at their fingertips (cell phones) continue to grow... they simply don't have an endless amount of time to go to one page, to the next. They are used to social media, scrolling... briefly clicking on what interests them and then moving on. SEO will improve for one-page sites, learn to design them, learn to love them, because they are here to stay. Have a good day Scotty!
This is an absolutely EXCELLENT video. I watch a LOT of tutorials and I am extremely picky and don't have a lot of patience. I need tutorials that quickly get to the point and deliver. 30-60 min is my normal cut off as well. I broke this up over a few days and watched every minute. Fantastic job. Hey Carlos, thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. Regarding building a directory, I am not sure Elementor is the best option for this. You would be better off using premium directory themes instead.

2:07:18 I have some questions... 1) What about screen orientations on mobile and tablet? These layout adjustments are only for portrait orientation, what about landscape orientation? For the "meet the team" part you have 3 columns and 2 rows on desktop, is there a way to change the layout to 2 columns and 3 rows on tablet? You could make that section for tablet the way you want and hide it on desktop and mobile, and than hide the section for desktop on mobile and tablet, but is that maethod a bit devious?
Hi Alex. Thank you for the tutorial. Liked and subbed. I will check out your course too. Naive question: commercial themes often include compatibility with one or two site builders, bu t no more. So they are not always compatible with Elementor. But you start the tut using the 2019 free theme and saying the theme choice does not matter as everything will be built with Elementor. Do I take it that any as long as a theme has not been developed using another site builder, it s compatible with Elementor? is there anything to watch out for when selecting a theme prior to developing with Elementor?

While editing, the change seems to be correct, but, when I go to a Preview, the images still look as with their original size.... Different sizes for different images so the columns look very uneven. However, recently I found that the website we built here does NOT support some older browsers, for example, in Safari 11.1.2. I did many researches online saying might need to use IntersectionObserver polyfill. I haven't come up with any solution yet. If you have any solution for this, please let me know. Much appreciated! - The video used on the header looks seriously amazing, but unfortunately, this video is far too long. Ideally, you shouldn't have a video at all but if you must have one then it should only be 1 - 3 seconds long and on loop. Or alternatively, don't allow it to play automatically, give the user the choice to play it and only allow the video to download once play has been pressed - therefore lowering the page load size and time. Similar to how youtube videos load within a website.
Other than these few issues I think your guides have a great explanation of all the key elements and functionality. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos :)

1 - I talked about the ability for users to indicate active page links when I was building the navigational menu. This is entirely optional and not a requirement
2 - You are 100% correct in all what you mentioned here but I doubt the overwhelming majority of students watching this tutorial will care about whether or not the site is SEO optimized. This tutorial is Elementor based and is meant to show how Elementor is used. If this was a tutorial on SEO then the issues you raised will be very valid indeed.
3 - Again you are absolutely correct but again this is a sample website built to demonstrate how Elementor is used. If this was a real website I was building for a myself or a client then the issues you raised will be very important. Also I am pretty sure the students watching this tutorial have their own videos and images they will be using on their websites.
I find it curious that while you criticized me for not optimizing the website, you failed to mention that I did nothing to also secure it against hackers.

@@TheWebMonkey Spot on rebuttal! Although "One Page" Sites are not SEO friendly, for most clients, they are becoming the norm. As the "microwave" generation who have all this massive amount of information at their fingertips (cell phones) continue to grow... they simply don't have an endless amount of time to go to one page, to the next. They are used to social media, scrolling... briefly clicking on what interests them and then moving on. SEO will improve for one-page sites, learn to design them, learn to love them, because they are here to stay. Have a good day Scotty!

1) What about screen orientations on mobile and tablet?
These layout adjustments are only for portrait orientation, what about landscape orientation?
For the "meet the team" part you have 3 columns and 2 rows on desktop, is there a way to change the layout to 2 columns and 3 rows on tablet?
You could make that section for tablet the way you want and hide it on desktop and mobile, and than hide the section for desktop on mobile and tablet, but is that maethod a bit devious?

So they are not always compatible with Elementor. But you start the tut using the 2019 free theme and saying the theme choice does not matter as everything will be built with Elementor. However, recently I found that the website we built here does NOT support some older browsers, for example, in Safari 11.1.2.
I did many researches online saying might need to use IntersectionObserver polyfill. I haven't come up with any solution yet.
