I think you should read the Lunar Chronicles if you're really into sci-fi. It's a retelling of fairy tales in a sort of dystopian and post-apocalyptic setting. It has a lot of diversity and strong female characters so I think you should check it out :)

I think I've read and loved all of these except for Legend, but with that synopsis I'm definitely going to pick it up soon. I'm a sucker for dystopians with tests and it sounds like maybe an "other side of the tracks" romance... Color me intrigued
Yes Percy Jackson! One of my first loves. Totally agree that the sequel series don't quite match it. I am reading Champion right now, I adore Marie Lu completely and her writing. Scythe has quickly become one of my all time favourite I cannot wait for Toll. The questions of morality is so thought provoking. I have read An Ember in the Ashes and Torch Against The Night this week and I was so blown away. I think it is definitely already made it on my future lists of favourite.

Oh dear god...before I would say I have a solid lists but after reading and rereading, I would say these are my top series: Shatter Me Throne of Glass Harry Potter Strange the Dreamer Six of Crows The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and VIrtue (I consider the companion a sequel) A Court of Thrones and Roses I need to read Percy Jackson. I absolutely adored the Six of Crows Duology, as well as The first two in the Scythe trilogy (here's to hoping the third on is just as good as the others), but I have to say that my all time favourite book series is the YA series Lockwood and Co. I would highly suggest giving them a read because they are all genuinely phenomenal
i would recommend the red queen as well as the uglies series, i really enjoyed both of them when i read them, they are both quite unique and interesting

You should check out the Unwind series, it’s by Neal Shusterman (like Scythe). It’s my favorite book series, still trying to finish it up though. It’s really good and got me into reading. It has such an interesting and creepy concept, but it’s so magnifying! Check it out please, I would love to see your thoughts.

Okay so i hope you get this!!! I am so so so glad you mentioned The Illuminae Files Trilogy..!!!! I have actually checked these books out 3 different times from my library over the last few years ... And I had gotten way too many to head or something or another... Well... idk i seen one of my booktubers with all 3 i their shelves in a vid... So i decided freak it! I went and got on Amazon... Bought all three and was done with it! I finally got them Friday afternoon once i got home from work... Now these books arent small... Illuminae is 599 pages, Gemina is 659 pages and Obsidio is 615 pages!!! Yes these books arent like normal books where it's just plain text from top to bottom of every page... Still a lot of pages though... I started Illuminae at like 8pm Friday after getting my kids to bed and getting my can of coke along with putting on some fantasy type space music on TH-cam... I swear before i knew it ... It was like 6am and i had just finished !!! OMG that book man oh man! I put on some coffee... Finished tagging and writing my notes... (Its how i give my reviews)... So I put on some coffe and started on Gemina right away! I did stop and clean, cook, play with my kids and stuff... Once they went to bed at 8pm i did take a nap and woke up around midnight... I finished the second book Sunday afternoon... I haven't went thru a book let alone a series as fast as i did in a long ass time!!! So... Its Monday afternoon and i am kind of stalling... Lol i don't want this series to be over... Haha... I haven't ever read a book or series quite the way this one is told... Oh man! There are moments that will make you laugh... Scream at the book... Cry and i mean ugly snot crying... This series will make you angry!!! Upset for what happened!!! It will also make you upset that you won't be alive in the next 200/300 years to see if some of this technology actually happens!!! :( :( :(

I read Percy Jackson as an Adult. I enjoyed Heroes of Olympus more (I was able to binge all of it. The first Apollo book had just been released when I got caught up. I categorize Heroes of Olympus (the "spin off" really it's a continuation. It just follows Percy AND 6 more demigods) as YA. There is more focus on relationships and everyone is 15, 16 or 17. When I was 11 I was reading Harry Potter and Pretty much every YA romance I could find. I read Gossip Girl, Angus thongs and snogging, twilight and a bunch of stand alones. And so much Sarah Dessen.
The Percy Jackson Series!! They got me out of my reading slump, and I have read all books by Rick Riordan. He is always going to be one of my favorite male author ever.. and the infernal devices stole my heart, I’ve reread it and will keep doing it the rest of my life. Although, I like all books by Cassandra Clare

I don't think so,that you need to read the mortal instrument series before the infernal devices. Cause me , myself read the infernal devices almost a year before the mortal instruments and it did make sense
TID 😶 the worst series I’ve read so far. Jem was kinda likable but Will is just a brat and I can’t stand Tessa, even Will could do better. Cassandra Clare cares more about romance than plot..
