I've read that with the Performer models it is a good idea to remove the plastic "bushings" from the lid holder as they can melt or become compromised. Have you any feedback on this? Great video!!
I have used my Kettle Pizza accessory many times with no issues. I would think that those bushings would be a high temp plastic? Not sure, but if I find out I will let you know.
great video sir, just a question, the instruction of this kit says that if you have a weber performer you must remove the plastic rollers attached to the lid holder or they will melt. Ever seen anything like this?
They're erring on the side of caution. Most people won't get the oven hot enough for long enough to melt the bushings, but since it could happen and Kettle Pizza doesn't want to get complaints they put that warning on paper.
Here are a couple of videos showing me cooking with it: Chipotle Potato Stackers - th-cam.com/video/LF25PFPIyO4/w-d-xo.html Grilled Goat Cheese Pizza - th-cam.com/video/G2GJoDRAJ1s/w-d-xo.html Dubliner Cheese Stuffed Chicken - th-cam.com/video/0vkkEhFwM2Y/w-d-xo.html
The first time you talked about the stone, you called the material "Cordierite." But after that you said "Cordite." I certainly hope it's not Cordite, since that is an explosive made from nitroglycerine, nitrocellulose, and gelled petroleum. ;-)
that thing is way cool !thanks for sharing Gary !
My pleasure John!
I like how the top of the stone sits level with the bottom of the front opening
Yes, definitely an improvement.

I want the kettle pizza fairy to drop one of these off at my house.
Could happen!
Cooking Outdoors the fairy dropped it off yesterday!
Nice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I would have liked to see the next step of actually using it.

Not much of a review.
