SO cute! My husband and I just got a puppy 4 months ago, it is such an amazing adventure! But a suggestion, when it comes to potty training- I totally recommend getting doggie bells for the door and training him to ring the bells when he needs to go outside. We did that and it works amazing. Our little guy was potty trained in about 2 weeks. Good luck! And beautiful family ❤️
Something that really helped me with potty training my dog when she was a puppy was putting a long bell on the door that we used to go outside and we rang it everytime I took her outside. She is two now and still paws at it to show she wants to or has to go outside
Just a head up! Golden retrievers get ear infects really easily, I have one myself and he is the love of my life; Oscar. My vet told me to keep water away from his ears whilst washing him, just thought I'd let you guys know :) Camper is so cute

My husband & I got a golden retriever too! His name is Abe he is 1 years old now. Camper reminds of my bundle of fur so much! Fun fact: the color of their ears and their paws (maybe even end of their tails) indicate what color their coat will be when they are older! I would totally post a pic of my baby Abie if I could!! I have a bernedoodle and he just turned 1 yr old! He used to bite so bad and chew our hands and it was exhausting trying to get him to stop! But let me just say he finally has and he is such a great dog 🐶 so just know it will get better he's just teething 💗
awwwww omg congrats!!! i used to have a lab which is very similar to a golden retriever, which are hunting dogs so naturally he will chase squirrels let him. just don't let him kill them because he will. but don't let him bite your hands either because he will think it's okay and do it when he's bigger and might accidentally hurt someone
Hey! Camper is SOOO cute so I wanna give you a friendly advice so that big boy turns out even cuter in the future: be extra careful with his ears whenever you're washing him or whenever he swims! Dogs are really ear-sensitive and it's really bad (and uncomfortable) for them to have water in their ears, so watch out for his ears when he's surrounded by water. Other than that, he looks super happy and healthy! You guys are doing a wonderful job. My dog and I wish you good luck!
You guys should teach him how to ring a bell that hangs by the door when he wants to go out! My family has done it with our pug and she loves it. All you have to do is every time you bring him out you take his paw and hit the little bell (we used cute jingle bells that we attached to soft fabric), and eventually he'll hit it on his own! He's sooooo cute, great little addition to your family unit! Looking forward to seeing Camper grow up with you guys :D

You can tie a bell to the door and train him to ring it when he wants to go outside, you will never have any accidents to clean up!! he's adorable! I have a Golden Retiever, but he's already 5! They are such loyal dogs. They are definitely swimming dogs, but try avoid washing them often with shampoos because it will strip away their natural oils in their coat :)
When he starts biting, just hand him a chew toy. He is probably teething right now, so his gums are sore and he needs pressure on them. I used to have to take my dog out for a bathroom break every (or every other) hour for the first month, then gave her a treat right afterward. That's how I trained the dog I used to have. Golden retrievers are smart, so he will catch on soon! I miss having a pupperz, they're the best. Super happy for you guys! :-)
Oh yea, and scented chew toys will help him distinguish between toys and other things around the house, like chicken flavored or something. Its good to have one of both just in case there is a chance that he doesn't like the scented ones. Good to have variety lol.
I have a British cream golden retriever (it's basically a white golden retriever) and they are the best dogs for a family cuz they are so calm but can play as well.
