I so love the look of these cards with those Nuvo powders! Really pretty and shiny...great job! I also loved to watch them move on the wet surfaces...so cool. :)
I just got mine yesterday and have been playing with them and I’m just giddy with the end results!!! Tap the jar ever so lightly as the first time I used one it squirted everywhere! What a mess! Love these !! Your cards are so pretty!! Thanks!
Very pretty watercolours. Very similar to Colorbursts I’m sure. Yes, that fine powder can get everywhere and you don’t know it until you go to make another card and you find these coloured bits all over your nice white card stock! It also got all over my scoreboard which was nearby, and also stained the shirt I was wearing at the time too. Fun....but messy 😊
I have been using Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders since they first came out and these seem to Tonic's own version of them. I find that a light spray of the card first followed by a light spray after brings out the colours better than a total saturation which merges the colours too much. This is especially effective if one of the colours has more underlying colours which burst out after spraying. But everyone has their own ways and the joy of using these powders is that no one card will look the same even if the same colours are used. Thanks for the video.
I have been waiting a long time for somebody to come out with these water color crystals with a shimmer to them. I love everything shimmer!! lol I had just been using a shimmer water to activate my brusho powders and the other brands that I"ve accumulated. That worked great also but I do love these colors.
These types of powders are absolutely magical Kristina! Love the starburst image and I saw some floral images as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing what else you'll create with these. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Hi Kay: I made a background yesterday of blues/purple (oxide type) blended together for a sky and realized it needed shimmer. Couldn't find my shimmer spray so I used the tonic product and the result was OUTSTANDING for a summer sky. As far as sealing it I had an idea. Maybe the glaze for oxides would work. best, Lee
I have never used this type of watercolor before...but when you first sprayed the last purple piece, there was a beautiful look that resembled feathers! Do you know if it would be possible to dry the piece fast enough to preserve that look? If so....that would be absolutely beautiful!
Yes if more water hadn't been sprayed on, that could have been dried with a heat gun and stayed like that. I generally prefer to use a lot less water with these than in the video, precisely so that you can still see all the different colours in one powder!
That was exactly my thought when I saw this.. I was obsessed with that band! Lol. But the band also comes from my favorite, Saint Catherine. Love it all the way around. 👍
It's funny you mentioned firework shapes earlier in the video because the colour name of 'Catherine Wheel' comes from an old firework which is banned in a lot of countries because they're dangerous, but they'd spin and be like an oversized sparkler....
Thank you for doing a demo! I've been eyeballing these for sometime but have yet to take the plunge. They are absolutely GORGEOUS & your favs are mine too! I'll probably order 2, play around then go from there. It would be great if they didn't need the coat of Krylon but whatever it takes, right!? Lol
These look like another type of the popular Brushos or ColorBurst powders, but not as vibrant. I think they are far more effective without so much water...a little really goes a long way. Because there are so many different colors in the powders, you get magical results! Less can definitely be more!
I have used this type of product before so I can relate to the “everywhere” comment. The very first time we used it, my friend had a little fan on way over in the corner. Well, I’m sure you know the answer to that........minute particles went everywhere although we didn’t it at the time. When she went to wash the floor, the mop turned her floor lots of different colors. Lol It took several rinses to get all the color off. And it did stain my white shirt. 🤪🤪

It is so much fun to watch the colors spread when they hit the water....pretty cards.
Those gorgeous bursts when it hit the water was mesmerizing! Thank you for sharing your experiment! Love the backgrounds you created. ❤
I so love the look of these cards with those Nuvo powders! Really pretty and shiny...great job! I also loved to watch them move on the wet surfaces...so cool. :)
Love how these came out, Kristina! Loved watching the fireworks, also...LOL.

Catherine Wheel is a type of firework (you nail it to a post or similar and it spins round).
I enjoyed watching this video. Seeing the colors change throughout the process!
I like much your original and beautiful cards of colours. THANKS! Kristina

I use a workable matt fixative that I had for charcoal drawing. It works really well for stuff like those shimmer powders
These powders are so cool. Great cards Kristina.
A Catherine wheel is a type of firework that spins round. These colours are really eye-catching 😍
Thank you for the information about the rub off, now everyone will know what to expect.
Such an interesting medium and beautiful cards♥️♥️
Hi Kristina! Love your videos. I have Brushos and they look totally different on arches vs Fabriano. I'd suggest trying on arches if you have some....
Thank you the powders look like lots of fun, will get some I think
Have to get some of those. Beautiful.

Very cool, i have been waiting to see what they're like. Now it's time to order
Thank you so much for sharing and I just got some of those powders in yesterday
I love the purple. I may have to get some
Thanks for sharing this video. I had some doubts about it. The only watercolor powder I tried are the Ken Oliver's
these turned out amazing! these are for sure going on my wish list!
These look really fun to play with. Do you think MicroGlaze might help to keep the shimmer on the card ?
Love the colors and I noticed on the very first one you did, you had a perfect little lamb face on it.
Gorgeous backgrounds Kristina!
I must get some of those... love the colours..x

These are pretty much all sold out on Tonic's UK website!
Catherine Wheel was also a 90’s band I used to listen to when I was in university. 😂
That was exactly my thought when I saw this.. I was obsessed with that band! Lol. But the band also comes from my favorite, Saint Catherine. Love it all the way around. 👍

Phoebe Grigor That's so interesting to know!
Kelli Tillman Great memories, that sounds like fun! Tfs 😊
Phoebe Grigor I wondered why it was called that so now I know! Thanks!
Until too many boys got their fingers blown off and it got banned forever :/
That is so interesting. Thank you for sharing!

Do you make the envelopes for your cards?
Stunning!!!
a mi gusto lo humedeces mucho, con los colores tan bonitos que sale con un poco de agua se definen mejor el color.un saludo
Off to go play with mine, have not had time to play with them.
What kind of paper did you?
Omg you are almost st 400k subscribers!! Congrats!
Kim Ambrose i
love watercolor powders. so glad you finally did a video on them. Why didn't you use micro glaze though!?
So much shimmer was flaking off when I barely touched it, I wasn't sure if it would survive the Micro Glaze application.
I've been using it on my colorbursts and Brusho, but I use a shimmer mist I made with perfect pearls.
Love it I always love your videos and I always dream of making them

That's what I thought too Marilyn. I have Colorburst, so I don't think I need this product.
Love these want to try them!

Could you place the powders into a palette, add water and use them like ColorBursts? These colors are spectacular!
I believe so
Yes, I do this often with my Color bursts.
Very pretty❤
Kristina, do you think a micro glaze would seal these as well? Thanks!
Angie Secrest I a.m. wondering that also. It was my first thought when she talked about the rub off.
I wondered about microglaze as well? Has anyone tried it?
Yay! Love this!
Awesome cards , Thank you for sharing I want to check them out as well .. :))
Catherine wheel is a band from the 90’s
Maybe try an extra fine spray bottle. Therefore less water.🤗

Oh, so disappointed that the shimmer and color comes off on your finger? I am not fond of aerosol sprays to seal it.
Lindo
TFS!
